I stood at the open gate to the training grounds, just staring in. My jacket was pulled tightly around my waist, trying to keep the cold out and the heat in. It was one of the coldest days yet.

Mister Alastair Ambrose had some pressing matters to attend to, so training was off until he returned. Well, the usual training. We were expected to train on our own, but most of us did not wish to train.

I have not trained since he left. I had no desire to as that is what he wanted. I would never wish to do anything he wants done. He was too demanding of us. Training every single day, one break for lunch. Quick breakfast and dinner. It was complete torture. I absolutely hate this.

'Gin,' Gian called out.

'Yes?' I turned, facing him.

'Why are you here?'

'I do not know. I may wish to train.'

'No.'

'No?'

'No.'

'Why?'

'Gin, today is the day.'

'The day?'

'The day the group returns either with our dear group leader alive, or the corpse of our dear leader because they think she had abandoned us.'

'Wait... Apple is returning today?!'

'Only if they did not kill her.'

'If they killed her, I will kill them.'

Gian smiled at me, lightly grabbing my arm. He pulled me away from the training arena. I was pulled toward the front gates where everyone from the camp was waiting. We wove through the sleep cabins and meal cabin. We went by the armory and the miscellaneous cabins which were just cabins that I did not know the function of.

I stood in between Gian and Heaven. She smiled down at me. I smiled back at her, holding my amulet tightly. This is my life line. If I were ever caught without it, I would be killed by Mister Alastair Ambrose. We are not allowed to take them off unless we are sleeping because movement in our sleep could break them.

The amulets are the lifeline of all assassins at ACCA. They are what protects us from being caught during our missions. We are virtually invisible and silent, like our demons are to us. Though, sometimes a person will be able to see through the spell placed on the amulets and see us. That is when we are probably in trouble. That is when we have to be careful during the assassinations. If we are not careful, we will be caught and that would end badly for us.

Heaven placed her arm around my shoulder, pulling me into a side hug. She is protective of me, as Apple is... er was. I wrapped my arms around her, worried. I was worried about Apple. If she was alive, she would not going to remember me or the rest of our group.

'Ugh, why are people so hyped to see Apple? I, personally, hope that they killed her, even if she did not abandon us. She is the worst person to ever attend this camp,' a voice sneered.

I looked over, seeing a mass of brown hair. Lina Frienza. The biggest bastaird at ACCA. She was brought into the camp like I was, but she views herself as superior to everyone else here. She even forced one of our old friends to be her friend and stop talking to us.

'I agree,' another voice said.

I sighed, that imbecile. Why does she even act like she hates Apple? Artemis Lentas used to be our friend. She was born into this life. She was friends with Apple since she was five. When Lina came, she forced Artemis, a red haired male named Colton, and a white haired male named Eros to make a small group of friends with her. She also forced a relationship between her and Colton and a relationship between Artemis and Eros.
