He knew it would be a memorable day today, but the urge of him feeling like this might be different somehow.

In the past, he played baseball as a hobby but now he takes it serious. Very. While his friends lost interest , he hung on to the engaging entertainment he called 'fun'. Through that, he actually gained a muscular tone through his arms. (VERY SEXY) A ripple of strength adhered to his stomach. Not much of a kid-like appearance. But one of a sexy, teen, young man.

He doesn't let that get to his head, ( yes..a football head) he is still that humble and sweet boy we met long ago. Apparently, he did change. He is not as dense as they say he might be. He actually took the life lessons he learned back them and used it to this very day. Unfortunately, his parents are still missing. And the personal goal he made for himself, to find them. Well.. Is still in need to be completed. And everyday the thought makes him feel like he had failed them. He tries his hardest to be the best son they would have had.

Day 1
P.S 118

He wore a blue polo with a plaid flannel wrapped around his  waist. He looked as if he had a bad day. Oh right..

(I forgot to tell you that he and Lila, got together. Well not together as a couple, but as friends. Still he feels like he wants to be more than that. Lost cause some may say, But there is a chance. Even if she would reject almost everytime. But at some point he had to grow up. Everyday he would loosen the feeling of that special connection with her. Did he succeed? Yep. But then.. Lila also told him that she liked-liked him! And he is overwhelmed with confusion.)
Back to our previous story!
*freaking flashbacks!(*゚ー゚)

Lila likes me,
But its too late
Is it?

He put his hand in his golden hair that still stood in three tufts on each side of his head.
He managed to tug some grey pants upwards on his body. And put his Chuck Taylor sneakers on.
If Lila likes me now...
Hmm maybe?
no. Its too late!
He grabbed his book bag and headed in the kitchen. His face hung over with depression.

Getrude, Arnold's grandmother, was cooking ten stacks of pancacks. Maybe more. But he didn't get a clear vision of it. His head was still hurting from that day...

"Arnold, I know I'm ever," she cracks a smile,"so late but I feel like, I like-like you." she touches his chest unexpectedly, as if she planned for this.

"i never felt this way before with you, and I never realized that we had something so special between us." she leans closer to his chin. Eyes battering at every sentence she finished.

"do you feel the same way?" Lila releases the pressure her hand gave on to his chest. Distancing herself but never breaking he contact.

"I-i-i.." He lost eye contacted with her.

" I do-"

"Here! Sugar cakes!" Getrude hovered over him with dozens of pancakes stacked on top of each other. He stared wide eyes at her.
As if he didn't get what she said.
Oh!
He grabbed the plate with a fake smile.

"thanks grandma!" he moved the plate towards the table to place it.

"Eat ALL of it." she looked at him, then the plate, then back at him. She gave a sympathetic smile and left the room.

He looked at the plate once, he stuck his tounge out, sickened.
Not that her food was bad BUT the amount she gives makes, a boy (hardly a man), tired.

He finished the plate.

"okay! Grandma, I'm going to school!" he headed to the door.

"Wait Shortman!" Getrude hurried blocking his path. With a picture of his grandfather.

She smiled. "We both are so proud of you!" her smile shook, tears now springing.

Arnold noticed the streaks of tears that followed on her cheeks, and he hugged her warmly.
"i know..I miss him to." he tried hard not to cry. It s been almost a full 2 years since his grandfather died.

He stepped back and admired the man in he picture frame.

"we love you," Getrude glowed with affection.

"love you too!" he waved goodbye and left.
