for those of you who wanted to know what song it was - like how the tune went, HERE YEE GO!! it's called I Know You Care (obviously) but it's by Ellie Goulding :)))))

WARNING: I WAS WAY TOO EXCITED FOR WHERE THIS IS LEADING SO I MAY HAVE A LOT OF SPELLING ERRORS AND STUFF SO I APOLOGIZE

------------

"I do care."

Those three words rung in my ears. They echoed and crawled back into my brain every few seconds. They would probably haunt my dreams.

After Luke said he cared, I ran out of the room like a fangirl chasing Harry Styles. Well, in other words, I ran fast.

Then it dawned on me. He knows. He can't know. I don't want him to know. Frick, Mason, you messed it all up. No one should be able to read you like a book.

"I knew that song would be too personal." I curse under my breath.

"Are you okay?" I quickly turn around to face Andi.

"Andi!" I breathe out. I fling my arms around her.

"Mason, are you okay?" she pulls back, looking at me concerned.

"No," a sob escapes me.

"Mason why are you crying?" she frowns, wrapping her arms around me.

"I feel vulnerable."

"Why?"

"My song."

"Isn't that why you love songwriting? It's scary to open up to the world how you feel but it makes you relatable. That's why people like your music." Andi smiles at me.

"You're right, of course." I sigh.

"But can I ask, why are you upset about it?"

"The person I wrote the song about found out." a small sob comes from me.

Andi nods her head, "Luke."

"Yeah, wait, how did you know?"

"I have known you for quite a long time," she grins. She begins to walk down the hallway, gesturing for me to follow. "You have always gone for boys who weren't exactly nice to you." she giggles.

"Yeah," I sigh, a smile creeps onto my face. By now, I was laughing and crying. "What is wrong with me?" I laugh, while tears sting my cheeks.

Andi laughs, "I think we need some good news."

"Well we have some. Luke knows how I feel." I say sarcastically.

"Okay, one that's not funny, and two, did you ever actually say you liked him in the song?"

After thinking for a second, I answer, "No, not directly."

"Good."

"But he knows the song is about him."

"He could care in a friend way."

"Maybe, but he probably knows I don't care for him in a friend way... I wrote a fricking song about him."

"Okay, very true. I'll call reinforcements."

Luke's POV

"What was that?" Michael asks, looking concerned.

"I don't know. Maybe she had to use the restroom?" I shrug.

"I think I heard someone crying, I'll be right back." Michael shuffles out of the room.

Her song was beautiful. In all honesty, it hit me hard. I knew it was about me. It had to be. Unless it's about her crush. Shit.

"Shit!" I curse.

"What did you do now?" Calum asks from behind me. He looked at me sternly, which sort of intimidated me.

"Messed things up, to put it simply."

"With what?"

"Someone special."

"Arzaylea?" Calum guesses. He moves towards me and sits down on the couch.

"No, someone even more special."

"Michael?" Calum burst out laughing.

"I'm Muke AF." I giggle. "But no, not Mikey."

"Ah then it's Mdawg." Calum winks.

"Calum," I groan, placing my head in my hands.

"What did you do?"

"I might of ruined our friendship. She wrote this song an-"

"I Know You Care?"

"Yeah, and I sa-"

"Luke, that song is about you." he looks blankly at me.

My eyes widen. My heartbeat quickens. I sound like a hormonal teenage girl finding out my crush likes me too. Wait, my crush...

"I know," I say quietly.

"I figured you already knew, since Mikey said she ran out of the room after playing it for you both. What did you say?"

"I told her I did care."

"Luke, you have a girlfriend. You can't lead Mason on." Calum says very seriously.

"I know, but it probably won't last."

"Don't say that. You guys have to date for at least like six months. It's on the contract."

"She's worth breaking it."
"Luke, answer this truthfully: are you high?"

"No Calum, I am not f*cking high." I punch his arm.

"Okay good," he laughs, "I'll leave you to your thoughts. You need to figure this out... The tour hasn't even started yet. You've only known her for a couple months now."

"Yeah."

"We have a soundcheck, rehearsal thing in forty minutes, be there." With that, he was out the door.

Two things run through my mind. Mason and her song.

"You are just saving yourself when you hide it."

I'm trying to save both of us.
