Mason's POV

"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it! I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!" my voice carries down the hallway.

"Woo! Portland!" Calum says. "I don't even know where it is."

"That's okay, Cal. That's why we go by plane."

"What?"

"Nevermind."

"So how are you, like inner Mason?"

"I'm fine," I shrug, "I'm confused and excited to spend quality time with you."

"Aw, Masey, I'm excited to meet your parents and prove that you aren't on tour with a bunch of dumbasses."

"But I am." I smirk.

"F*** off," he pretends to be offended, "So we are going to go see The 1975?"

"Yep, and we have to go undercover," I giggle, "Do you want to wear a mustache or a fat suit?"

"Neither?"

"I'm half kidding."

"I figured."

---------------

Once we landed, a couple fans saw I was back and asked for autographs before taking pictures with me. The whole plan was to keep Calum hidden which luckily happened successfully. We ended up taking two cars to the house.

"So, I am staying at your house in the guest room?" Cal asks.

"Yep, and warning, Em might freak out that you are staying but then she'll calm down. She's coming with us to the concert."

"Okay, sounds good." Calum shrugs turning back to his phone.

The car pulls up in front of the house after we passed through the security gate. Em is already outside, waving her hand. My mom begins to exit the house walking towards us. A smile spreads on her face.

"Mom!" I exclaim, running towards her.

"Oh, Mason, you are home!" she blinks back tears.

"Mom, don't cry!" I hug her tightly.

"I just feel like I haven't seen you at all and now you're actually coming home!" she sighs.

"Mason! Oh my gosh, I've missed yo- is that Calum Hood?!" her eyes dart to the boy awkwardly grinning behind me.

"Yep," he smiles, "and you are Emerson? We saw each other in Australia but never spoke."

Her smile widens. Em nods. "Yes, you can call me Em, though."

Mom obviously didn't know who Calum was. "Are you Mason's boyfriend?" her eyebrow raises.

A blush crosses Calum's cheeks as he laughs. "No, Mrs Prince, I am not her boyfriend."

"Mom!" Em yells, "Mason doesn't like Calum. Calum is one of her best friends. She likes Luke, right?" her eyes land on me, questioning.

"Uh, well, that's complicated and doesn't need to be talked about right now."

Wow. Embarrassing. Way to go.

"Let's head inside." My mom smiles, noticing her daughter's pleading eyes. Thank you, Mom.

--------------------------

Jet lag is a bitch.

My whole body was exhausted and by the sounds of it, Calum and Em were having a party downstairs with my mom. How the hell does Calum do it? He is best friends with people after like two minutes. Their music gets louder and louder until I realize they are bringing the party to my room.

"Mason, open up!" Clam yells.

"It's open!" Shuffling noises are outside.

I hear someone say "intervention time."

"What the hell are you guys doing?" I ask, as the two of them throw themselves on my bed.

"We need to talk through the hard stuff that you are escaping." Em says with a serious look.

"What is this? A television drama?"

"Look, Mase, you just need to decide what is important to you." Cal says.

Okay?

"Um, alright."

"List the stuff that's important to you right now."

"Uh, my family, my fans, my friends, the tour, and, uh, music."

"That's it?" Em asks.

An image pops into my head. Blue eyes. Dimples. Great smile. That boy.

"Luke?" It comes out as a question.

"He's important to you?"

"I guess?"

"Okay?"

"Damn, ladies, so many questions." Cal giggles.

"Decide, is he important to you? Do you have feelings for him?" Em looks me dead in the eyes.

"Um..."
