Since Katie had her baby, Jason had been constantly sending me photos of my sweet niece, Kristen. Luke and I had seen them when we visited them a few months ago in the hospital. When Luke held little Kristen, I think I shed a tear. There was too much cuteness going on there.
Anyway, my boyfriend and I have been fantastic. I mean who wouldn't like waking up to that face.
"Mase, do you want Thai or Chinese?" Luke calls from the kitchen downstairs.
"Thai, please!" I yell back.
After a few minutes, I hear the sound of feet making their way closer. Luke's body comes into view. I grin from my place on the couch. One look from that boy can make me feel warm all over.
"What are you looking at?" Luke walks towards me, "Hm?" He gives me one of his cheek grins.
"You," I attempt to keep my breathing normal. His hands slip around my waist and he pulls me closer to him.
"Mmm, why?" his eyes turned a shade darker.
Oh boy, oh boy.
"Because you are undeniably the best thing that's happened to me and at the same time you are the most attractive man I've ever laid eyes on." His smirk grows as I speak. "I mean I, uh-"
"Come here," he says, licking his lips.
Suddenly I am not so sure our evening of take out and movies is going to happen.
"Okay."
He puts his hand on my cheek and tilts my head up so he can see my eyes.
"Hey there," I say, extremely awkwardly.
Luke stifles a laugh. "Hi, babe."
His words make me want to melt into a literal puddle.
"Now don't talk because I am going to kiss you." Luke moves towards me.
His lips are soon on mine and he pulls me closer, tugging at my shirt. He bites down on my bottom lip and explosions happen throughout my body. He's going to be the death of me. Luke continues to pull me closer to him, moving his lips to my neck.
"Luke," I manage to gasp, "I need to talk to y-you."
His kisses slow and his big blue eyes look into mine. He cocks his head to the side as if the say What's up?
"Luke, we never talked about what happened when you told me you loved me." I remind him.
Luke shuts his eyes, "Mason, I don't really want to talk about that right now."
"Well, I do," I frown at him.
"Don't, you're killing the moment we were having."
"Lu-"
"No, Mason, I don't want to talk about it." He gave me an irritated look.
"I know bu-"
"I mean it. I'll wait for you but it hurt, and I don't think we need to talk about it."
"Come on, Luke, let me just talk for a sec-"
"Mason, what was the movie you wanted to watch?" He speaks over my voice.
"Luke, I f*ucking love you!" I cry, loudly.
Luke's eyes widen.
"There, I said it." I assure myself.
"You love me?" Luke asks, his face still looking shocked. I nod. "You're sure?"
"Luke, what kind of question is that?"
"I mean, I just, uh, I love you too." A smile breaks out on his face. "A year of knowing you and you have made me the happiest I have ever been."
"I realized I really loved you when you held Kirsten and I imagined it being my child." I blush, "How creepy is that?"
"Mason, that is ridiculously cute." He wraps his arms around me.
"You're ridiculously cute." I shoot back.
"I am so happy, Mase." Luke's smile made me want to shit rainbows. I have no chill.
"Me, too," I grin at him.
Suddenly, his eyes widen. "Mason," he sounds shocked.
"What?" Concern laces my voice.
"You swore." Luke smiles, "You say f*ck! I need to tell the boys!"
"Seriously?" I roll my eyes. "I said it for emphasis."
"You still said it and I feel honored I was the only one to hear it."
"Okay, buddy." I pick up my phone and scroll through Twitter and Instagram.
"Mason, I am ready," He looks at me seriously. For what?! A long list of possibilities stream into my mind.
"For?" I raise my eyebrow.
"To tell everyone."
"What?" Luke is very confusing. I am also dumb.
"Mason, I want to tell everyone, the world, that I am not single and happily taken." Luke states. "Can I have your permission to post something on social media?"
A smile made it's way to my face. "Of course."
