We decided to leave on the day when Shane goes to college. It only makes sense since nobody will ever imagine Shane and I running away at the last minute. "So I will be driving until we leave town and then you take over?" "Yup and then we just go on from there." he says and I nod my head.
I am pretty sure I want to this. I'm willing to do anything to be with Shane and if running away is the case then I will do it. We are only doing this for love.
The next day I packed my bags and put them inside the trunk of my car. Shane did the same as well. We didn't pack that much. It would look suspicious. I packed all my clothes and some photos. Shane packed things that a person would pack for college. What would someone pack for college?
Shane and I went our separate ways and visited our parents for the last time. It was hard to say goodbye to my dad. I was crying. He thought it was about Shane leaving for college. If only he knew. "Dad, can you promise not to tell anyone?" "Promise what?" "Shane and I are leaving." I say. "I know that." he says.
This is so hard. I can't stop crying. "Dad, Shane and I are running away." I say. Dad looked at me and smiled. Why is he smiling? "Your mother and I ran away to be together." he says. "Where did you go?" I ask. "Here. Nobody knew us here and we wanted to keep it that way. We made new friends and we didn't keep in touch with our old friends. We wanted to forget about them and refresh. Start a new life. You can say that they weren't good friends. They never had our backs. They would just cause more chaos." dad sighed.
"Rylee, your lucky to have good friends who accept your relationship with Shane. If you want to runaway and leave all your childhood memories behind then do it but make sure you come to visit every once in awhile." he tells me and I nod my head. My dad handed me a box of tissues and I cried. Dad sure knows how to make people feel bad.
"What made you love Madeline?" I ask. "I thought she was my life. I thought I needed her to survive. If only I knew who she really was before we got married." he says. "Why did you marry her?" I ask. "I loved her." "Do you still love her?" I ask. "Not like I did before. I lost all my love for her a long time ago."
The doorbell rung and dad opened it. Shane walked in and gave me a hug. I said goodbye to my dad and we walked to my car.
Since Shane walked here, I drove him to my house and we sat on the couch. "I can't do it Shane." I tell him. "You're ready to back down?" he asked. "I just can't leave my friends and family." Shane stands up. "I can't leave us either." I tell him. "Then what should we do?" Shane asked. "You can just go to school and I will do the same." I say. "I can't Ry, I can't just leave you." "There's some things you have to do for love." I tell him and he cries.
"Maybe you can move close to the school...." "No, I can't leave my hometown Shane. It's easy for you but what about me?" I ask. "What am I suppose to do?" he asked. "I-I don't know Shane." I say and cry.
The next day we moved Shane's stuff into Torri's car and my stuff back into my house.
Today is the day Shane leaves for Harvard. The crew and I are going to drop him off at the train station. The seven... Eight, of us got into separate cars. I rode with Leo and Jamie and Jade.
We arrived at the train station and help grab Shane's bags. His bags feel like they have rocks in them. "What did you do, pack Patrick's house?" I ask sarcastically. "Maybe." Shane says and we walked inside.
Shane payed for his ticket. His ride arrives in 5 minutes. Everyone said their goodbyes and sat down on one of those seats. Only 3 more minutes. "I guess this is goodbye." I say with tears streaming down my eyes.
I could see the sunset behind Shane. "I guess it is." he says and he starts crying as well. "Leo. Kyle. I want you two to take good care of Rylee for me while I'm gone." he says to the boys. "Sure thing Shane." they say and Shane kissed my cheek. "I want you to stay out of trouble." he tells me. "Tell me where my razor is." I say. "It's somewhere wet." he says. "I love you Ry." he says and cups his hands on my cheek and we kissed until his train was called.
Shane pulled away and picked up his luggage. "Will you love me tomorrow?" I ask. "Forever and ever babe." he whispers. "Goodbye Shane." I say and watched him walk into the train.
I turned around and started walking towards the crew. "It's going to be alright." Torri says and then a pair of hands grabbed onto my hips. I was spun around. "I don't care if miss the ride. All I know is that I want to be with you forever." Shane says. "What about Harvard?" I ask. "I will go to college with you. I don't care about Harvard.
All I care about is you." he says and kisses me. I kiss him back. "So what are you going to do while I'm in school?" I ask. "I'm going to get a job." he tells me. "A job?" I mock "Yes a job." Shane says and kissed me again. "I love you Shane Ellis." "Aw! This is so cute! Get close together. I'm posting this on Facebook!" Torri says and had me and Shane pose for pictures.
I guess this might work out between Shane and I. We'll just have to see about that.
"What did you mean by something wet?" I asked. "I threw it." he tells me as he kisses me down to my neck. "Threw it where?" "Out into the Atlantic Ocean." he says. "I know I've said this before but I'm going to say this again... What would I do without you Shane?" I asked. "You wouldn't do anything because I will always be there for you no matter what."
