~Kellin's POV~
Vic walked out the classroom door, grinning when he saw me.
"You're here,"
He said excitedly. I laughed.
"Well duh. I'm not just going to ditch you,"
I replied. We started off towards the choir room, Vic walking beside me. His dark eyes were shining, taking in every ounce of the school and sometimes glancing at me, which sent shivers down my spine.

"Here we are,"
I announced, holding the door open for Vic when we had finally reached the classroom. We sat in two chairs side-by-side.
"How was geometry?"
I asked, meeting Vic's eyes. He glanced down at the floor, puckering his lips adorably.
"It was alright I guess... I met your friend Justin, I think his name is? And a guy named Bruce."
I winced. Bruce had been my ultimate tormentor since kindergarten.
"Did he say anything to you?"
I asked, concerned. Vic hesitated.
"He thinks we're dating. He called me a gay ass faggot."
I growled.
"That fucking-"
I was interrupted by the final bell ringing and the teacher, Mrs. Lolly, walking into the room.

She smiled at the class, brushing her smooth, blonde hair out of her eyes.
"Hello class,"
she chirped.
"For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mrs. Lolly. Welcome to choir!"
She glanced pointedly at Vic and another boy beside him.
"It looks like almost everyone here has been in my choir before... Except maybe two of you?"
She smiled warmly.
"Let's go around and introduce ourselves, shall we?"

One by one everyone said their names, and I spaced out, thinking about what Bruce had said to Vic.
Us? Dating?
I ignored the thrill that shot through my body.
No... He's way out of my league, new kid or not. Get the idea out of your head.
Finally, it was my turn to introduce myself.
"I'm Kellin,"
I announced, though everyone already knew me. I gave a slight wave around the room. Vic was next. He cleared his throat nervously.
"H-hi. Um I'm V-Vic and I'm new here,"
he mumbled. Mrs. Lolly gestured to the boy sitting beside Vic, whom I didn't recognize.
"I'm Jaime and I'm also new,"
he said quietly.
"Alright! I think that's everyone! Today I'd like to check voice ranges, so we can put you each in the proper group. Those of you who were here last year will most likely stay in the same group, but it doesn't hurt to double check." Mrs. Lolly announced, clapping her hands together.

"Well start with previous choir members."
She turned to face Vic and Jaime.
"Basically, I'll play a note on the piano and you sing it. Your goal is to match the pitch. This determines how high you can sing."
They nodded. Vic looked worriedly at me. I smiled, reaching to lace his fingers in mine.
"You'll be okay,"
I whispered. Mrs. Lolly started with the older students before coming to me.
"Ready Kellin?"
She said. I nodded. She began playing notes on the piano and I sing along with them, perfectly at ease. Singing has always been easier for me. "Excellent. Tenor, as usual."
She said, grinning at me and scribbling something on a piece of paper. She turned to Vic.
"Do your best alright? Don't be nervous."
Vic nodded, squeezing my hand as hard as he could manage. Mrs. Lolly set off on the piano, and Vic sang along, quiet at first. After a moment, he gained confidence and became louder.

His voice was the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard in my whole life. It was clear and high, with a tinge of whiney-ness that made me blush furiously. Mrs. Lolly's eyes widened.
"Awesome job, Vic! Hmm... I think we'll put you in tenor. Your voice is amazing!"
Vic's cheeks went slightly pink despite his tan skin, and he laughed.
"Thank you..."
He said quietly. I glanced around the room. Everyone was staring open-mouthed at Vic in amazement, as was I. "Holy shit,"
I whispered,
"No wonder you joined the choir!"

For the rest of class, Mrs. Lolly handed out music for our first concert which would be held a month from now. I sat tracing hearts on Vic's hand while he made friends with Jaime, and even included me in their conversations. It wasn't like I did much talking anyway. Sitting so close to Vic made my head spin and my chest hurt. He was absolutely stunning, from his curly brown hair to his plain black converse. His voice was mesmerizing, whether he was singing or talking- it didn't matter which. He was exactly what I'd been dreaming of.

Why am I so obsessed with him? What the fuck is it about Victor Fuentes that's pulling me under?
