After 3 weeks of recovering

I could feel stares falling on me as I first entered the hallways of Pine Hills College Prep. Everyone was quiet, it was as though they knew that Zara's soul was gone and someone else's soul was possessing Zara's body. Then someone peeped and asked quietly, but it was loud because no one else was talking in the hallways. It was a girl, pretty shrinky and short, she had brown eyes, brown hair, freckles, with red plastic rim glasses, she asked me, "Zara, um...are you catched up on your homework?" I was surprised someone had asked me, but it was a pretty flimsy start to a back to school. I was expecting more of a "do you need help? I can help you" or at least an "are you feeling okay" suggestion.

"Huh? Oh...Umm..." I had to think about it for a while, maybe I had already finished my work, maybe Zara was--- "Can...can you help me?" came out a voice I barely recognized.

"Pfft, who wants to work with a nerd like Molly," someone said out of the crowd pointing at the girl with the red glasses. A few people chuckled at the joke.

"I do," I said more confidently. More laughs came out.

"Yeah, you go right ahead, ZARA," the same person said emphasizing on my name. People started to leave for their classes now.

A taller girl stepped out and looked deeply into my eyes. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, with freckles sprinkled over her face. "Since when were you friends with Molly? You were best friends with me Zara, until your surgery. You would always ignore Molly. What has happened to you?"

"Can we talk in private, just not in the middle of the hallways," I asked the girl.

"No one is watching us," she said.

"But still," I said.

"Alright," the girl scoffed. She turned around and left me standing in the mid-open hallways. How could Zara, the real Zara, be friends with this kind of friend? I thought. I REALLY REGRET HITTING THE RETURN BUTTON! Where were my old friends? Did they forget about me and make new friends? What were they doing at the moment?  I couldn't know, because I wasn't going back to my past once again. I am Zara  and not Elaine.
