The last couple of weeks have been nothing short of fascinating. Loki has begun training, and figuring out how to use his powers for good. Tony has taken a liking to him, even though he won't admit it. Even Vision has come out from wherever he was to help Loki. Nick says he is very impressed with his progress so far, and he hopes that it stays this way. Loki has had a couple of set backs, but they aren't anything too major. They are mostly nightmares, nightmares of a life he is trying to leave behind. Lately I have been contemplating whether or not I should take off my mask. I have gotten so close to everyone here, and I feel like showing them who I truly am will put them at ease. Although Loki won't really recognize me, and neither will thor if he was here, but the others will. Just last week I caught Steve watching a movie I was in. I think today is the day. I get out of bed and change into an outfit that is similar to one I have worn in a movie before. I was an undercover agent. I wear a pair or grey joggers, a green tanktop, and my favorite black leather half jacket. I go in the bathroom and straighten my hair. I actually do my make up for once, and I put on the mask. I already texted everyone to meet me in the conference room. Loki is still sound asleep, and I'm going to leave him that way. My nerves are all over the place. What if they don't take me seriously anymore? What if they like me better with the mask on? I try to push all negative thoughts aside as I make my way into the conference room.
"Alright Secret, what is this all about?" Natasha asks.
"I am a little shocked you asked me to come here too." Mrs. Rita says.
"I asked you all here because I believe it is about time I showed you something. All of you here have impacted me in some way, and I want you to know that I care. I want to show you who I really am." They all stare at me in silence.
"You mean you want to take off the mask?" Steve smiles.
"Are you sure about this?" Nick asks touching my shoulder.
"I'm positive." I smile. With the room filled with super heroes, also known as my friends, I start to take off the mask. I turn around, putting my back to them as I unlock the final part to taking off the mask. I let it drop to the floor as I turn around and show my face to them. Most of them gasp as the realize who I am.
"Sarah Jones? As in the woman who just got crowned sexiest woman of the year?" Wanda smiles.
"And as in one of my favorite authors of all time?" Natasha asks.
"Yes. All of that is true. I also might have signed you books while you werent looking." I wink at Natasha.
"Wait, you were in that movie I just watched a couple of days ago. I asked you if Sarah Jones was as cool in person as she is in movies?" Steve laughs.
"Well, am I?" I chuckle. "Listen, this feels amazing. To finally be able to show all of you the true me, but there is a catch. Will you please keep this a secret? If some of the movie critics and other paparazzi where to find out, I might not be able to do all of this."
"Of course." Tony smiles as he gives me a hug.
"Haha, secret.." Wanda giggles. "Is that where the name came from?"
"Mostly, I liked how it was a play on words."
"Well, I have to get back to cookin. It's great to finally see your face child. Come see me later on now." Mrs. Rita smiles before leaving.
"So have you shown Loki yet?" Steve asks.
"No, he was asleep. I'll show him in a moment."
"I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to show us, se-Sarah." Natasha laughs.
"Yeah, I bet you get tired of wearing that mask all the time." Wanda says.
"Yes I do. Sleeping with it on is no fun. Well I have some off the ship work to do today, so I'll have to catch you guys later. Thanks for being supportive of my choice." I smile and go back to my room. My mask in hand, I set it down on the table by the door. I walk over to Loki, and nudge him. He rolls over and opens his eyes. He backs away from me in shock.
"Who are you?" He asks.
"It's me Loki, Secret." He slowly comes closer to me and he puts his hand against my cheek. "I took of the mask, for everyone to see. I mean, I'll still have to wear it on missions, but this is a start."
"You look just like her..." He whispers.
"Like who?"
"The woman, from the future."
"You could see her face?"
"Yes. She had crystal hazel eyes, smooth caramel skin, radiant brown hair, and the most beautiful smile I have ever seen." He stands up and pulls me close to him. "It is you. It was you all along." He whispers. He takes my chin and lifts my eyes to meet his. He leans down and kisses me. It's gentle, sweet, yet it's also passionate. He pulls back and looks at me. "I have been hopeful that it was you all along. I knew even if it was not you, I would still want you anyhow. My most lovely second chance." He smiles. The smile is real, and he is radiating happiness.
"You want me?"
"Correction, my lady. I need you. Permanently." My head is spinning with all the words he has said. Do I feel the same way? I think I do, I just have been pushing this out of my mind for so long.. All of a sudden, the door burst open and Thor stands there.
"Loki, you must accompany me to Asgard. Father has seen everything, and wishes to speak with you."
"Not with out her."
"The All-Father wishes for her to come as well." Thor states. They both look at me, and I'm standing there wondering, what have I gotten myself into this time?
