Thor pushes open the door to my supposed "chambers" and my mouth literally drops. I may be famous, and I may have so extravagant things, but this room is way more spectacular than I even expected. But what was I to expect? I run my hands along the soft, silky blankets drapped over the king sized bed. It has tall pillars that stand as the four bed posts, and a rather marvelous, white canopy that hangs down from the ceiling to come over the bed. I walk over to the bathroom, and the tile work in here can only further take my breathe away. The blue and white flooring contrast perfectly with the green and brown walls. It's all natural colors, nothing too bright, nothing to simple. The tub is marble and a pastel green. I run my hand along the marble sink and look into the mirror. I can see the smile in my own eyes. I can't get enough of this place. I venture to the closet, and its full of elegant clothing. All seem to be my size, but dresses don't seem to really be my style. I still fall in love with the fabric, the feeling of some of the dresses under my fingertips. I go back to the room and both Loki and Thor are standing by my door. I look over to the window, and notice that it's also a balcony. I run to the doors, open them swiftly and carefully, and walk to railing of the balcony. The view is gorgeous. I can't believe half of the things I'm seeing. People riding around in carriages like they did before cars were invented, men and women dressed in formal attire, although that would be considered normal here at the palace, and everyone seems to just be happy. This place just radiates love, kindness, and pure joy. I swing my legs over the edge and sit atop the railing, swaying my legs back and forth. I breathe in the crisp air, noting that it does hurt my lungs slightly, but it also makes me feel like I can breathe deeper than normal.
"I am guessing you like it here?" Loki says from behind me.
"This place takes my breath away." I semi whisper.
"I hope you are pleased with the accommodations." Thor says coming to stand by me.
"How do you not get lost in the beauty of this place?" I ask to either of them in general.
"Well, when you have had an eternity to enjoy it, I guess it is hard to look at this place the way you say it." A voice says that I find unfamiliar. I swing my legs back over and hop down to find a beautiful woman standing there. Her dark brown hair drifts in the breeze just past her shoulders, she stands at least five foot eight, he posture shows total confidence and her eyes draw you in. She is just lovely, and I'm not sure why she is in my supposed room.
"My name is Sif. Please do not call me Lady Sif like these two do." She offers a reasurring smile.
"It's great to meet you, I'm Sarah. I have been trying to get that same thing through their head." I chuckle and she shakes my hand.
"I hope you find the clothes we have provided to work to your standards."
"I'm sure I'll manage." She takes my hand and walks me to the closet.
"There are pants in the back, and some shirts as well. I can see we have one thing in common." She says nodding to the dresses with a funny expression. "It was nice to meet you Sarah, I would hope to see you in the dining hall tomorrow morning?"
"Consider me there." I smile and she leaves. "OK, so is it just me or is that not the most badass woman to have ever existed?" I ask the boys.
"I am not sure I understand." Thor says furrowing his brow.
"She is saying that Lady Sif is cool." Loki says, and I am surprised he understood me as well. Thor nods as to signal he gets what I'm saying.
"Oh my, OK so what did she mean by an eternity? Is that just an expression?"
"Actually, she means that quite literally." Loki says.
"So, wait, let me see if I get this right. You're both demi-gods, you live in a place only some could dream of, and you get to live forever?"
"Immortality is but a blessing and a curse. But yes, you are correct." Loki smiles at me.
"Wow. Again, that is totally badass." I laugh. I run to the bed and jump on it. It's just as comfortable as I thought it would be. The sheets are almost beckoning me to stay for the rest of my life. I slide off the bed and stand. Both Thor and loki stare at me, laughing to themselves.
"So, which one of you is gonna give me a tour? I won't be here long." I smile.
"I think I might be of use with that." Loki says.
"See to it that Lady Sarah is adjusted well brother. As you were." Thor smiles and leaves the room. Loki links his arm through mine, and escorts me down the hall. This time, I have a moment to look at everything. The hallways are almost what you would see at a very fancy strip mall. Everything is connected but is also open and you are mostly outside. It's got a natural appeal to it all. Everything flows and the raw beauty of it all just gives me chills.
"Are you cold, my Lady?" Loki asks.
"No. And please stop calling me that." I laugh.
"Well, how about, my love." He whispers in my ear. I can feel the hair stand on the back of my neck and a small tingle dances through me. I turn to face him, and plant a kiss on his cheek.
"Sarah will suffice." I giggle. This is going to be one hell of a day.
