I squint my eyes as I can see the sun pouring into my room from the window. I look over and Loki is still sound asleep. He has the cutest little snore, and I'm super glad it's just a little snore. His mouth is open just a little and he looks so at ease, as if he doesn't have a care in the word. His hair pulled back behind him, but still a couple of pieces lay over his eyes. He has an arm around my waist, and his other arm wrapped firmly around his pillow. I lean forward and lightly kiss his lips. His eyes flutter open and he smiles.
"Good morning, my Prince." I whisper.
"Good morning, my love." He chuckles. "I see you slept well."
"As did you. We need to get up."
"But I cannot move." He laughs. I press my finger into his side lightly and he laughs even harder.
"Oh, is someone ticklish??" And I continue to tickle him until he sits up. I jump down and go to my closet to find something to wear. Sif said something about pants somewhere in here. I find a pair of legging material pants, throw on a shirt that seems to tie in the front. What is this thing? How does it work?
"Hahahaha, my love, that is a tunic." Loki appears at the closet laughing even more than when I tickled him.
"Will you tell me how this works please? It would be so much easier if you guys just had t-shirts." I growl. He comes over and ties the tunic in the front, lacing it all the way up above my breasts. He pulls a dress down and hands it to me. I burst into laughter and hand it back to him. I look and find a coat that seems to match. He chuckles, gives me a kiss on the forehead and leaves the room. He's so cute and annoying, all at the same time. I go to the bathroom and look at myself. I don't look terrible but I have yesterday's makeup on, smudged black lines under my eyes from crying, and my hair isn't too straight anymore. I put my hair up in a high bun, letting some of it flow down my back. I wash my face to get rid of yesterday's stress, and dry off. I pinch my cheeks to add a little color, put on a pair of flats, and leave the room. I head down the hallway and I feel a hand lightly touch my back.
"May I escort you to the dining hall, my Love?" Loki smiles.
"Why, I'd love that." I giggle. We walk arm and arm into the room. Everyone is starting to take their seats and they all stop as we walk in. It's just like the other day, when Loki apologized. The judgmental eyes.. He gestures for me to sit. I sit down and he pushes my chair in, then takes a seat next to me. I don't really look up much as everyone starts to enjoy breakfast. It's definitely not Mrs. Rita's home style cooking, but its still really good. I see Kari come in and put out a plate of rolls. I look over at her and smile, and she smiles widely back at me. Then she scurries off to do other things.
"So, this is the Lady Sarah we have all heard about?" And big man with a red beard bellows from the other side of the table.
"Yes. Sarah, this is Volstagg, that is Hugon, and-" Loki's introductions are cut off.
"And the handsome man sitting beside you is Fandral." He pipes, nudging me slightly. He seems funny. He is in fact handsome, bright blue eyes, strong jaw line, blonde hair.
"Yes, that is Fandral. They are the Warriors three. And you have already met Sif." Sif waves at me with a smile.
"I see you found the clothing I was referencing to." She slightly chuckles.
"Yes, thank you so much for the help."
"So, how long is the Lady to stay here?" Volstagg asks.
"I believe we must be off tonight. She is a very important Lady on Midgard." Loki states.
"Will you not be joining us here, Loki?" Thor asks.
"I will go where Lady Sarah goes." He nods toward Thor.
"I will have to inform the All-father of your departure."
"As you should." The room is quiet for some time, until there is a loud noise in the kitchen. I hear Kari say "oops." I stand and walk toward the kitchen.
"Lady Sarah, where are you going?" Thor asks.
"To check on Kari." I smile. I go in the kitchen and it seems that she had dropped a tray of drinks. She seems a little frazzled. "Kari, are you alright?" I ask as I start to help her pick everything up.
"Oh, Lady Sarah, you should not be helping me. It was my mess."
"Everyone needs a little help every now and then." I smile at her. I help her clean everything and I help her make a new tray of drinks. I smile as I carry it out to the dining hall.
"Lady Sarah, why are you bringing out the beverages? Should not the servant do this?" Volstagg asks.
"Everyone deserves a break, plus I don't mind. She's a sweet girl." I say as I toss all of there drinks down the table, sliding them to a hault in front of them. I take the tray back to Kari, give her a small hug and go back to my seat. They all stare at me for a moment.
"So, what is it that you do on Midgard?" Fandral asks.
"Well, I am an actress, and I write stories. I also joined the avengers team, who Thor is friends with, some time ago."
"So you help protect Midgard?" Vokstaggs asks.
"Yes."
"Heimdall did say you have a gift." Thor smiles. I didn't even know he heard that.
"What is it that you can do?" Hugon asks.
"I think the correct question is, what is it that she cannot do?" Loki says nudging me.
"So are you some form of enchantress?" Volstagg asks.
"I guess that's what you could call it."
"So, if you so pleased, you could turn this plate into something else?" Fandral asks, holding out his plate. I can see he is fishing for a demonstration. I just don't know what to turn it into. I take the plate from him and look at it, closely. The plate is blue, with gold trimming. It has a butterfly right in the center, and that just gives me an idea. I hold the plate at the bottom with just one palm of my hand. I concentrate, and I can feel the power in my fingertips. The wind in the room pick up slightly, blowing a breeze just a little stronger than it already was. I can see the white glow forming around me, and I watch as the plate loses its circular shape, and begins to mold into something new. The butterfly emergers from its cocoon of glass, and starts to fly about the room. It has blue wings and golden antennas. Every gasps as they watch it fly out if the room, toward the garden.
"That was amazing." Sif smiles. They all continue to ask me questions and the room fills with laughter for hours. They made me feel so welcome, telling old battle stories, telling old wives tales and so on. I haven't had this much fun in years. And it was great to see Loki truly enjoy himself. Thor and Loki told stories side by side and it looked as if they were kids all over again. Like they were brothers again. We finally finished and everyone left the room. Loki walked with me back to my room, and came to sit in my bed.
"They are amazing." I smiled at him, resting my hands on his knees.
"It has been some time since I have been around them without it becoming a war."
"You mean without you waging a war?" I poke his stomach and he chuckles.
"Well, yes, I suppose. I am glad we came, Sarah. It is nice to come home and have a warm welcome. I have you to thank for that."
"I'm glad I can help. So, just thinking out loud here, what would happen if we stayed a while longer? Like a vacation?"
"Do you wish to stay here, Sarah?" His eyes light up, and I just can't say no.
"I think I do."
