I was home now, my mother wouldn't be home for another hour and my father wouldn't be home for another few hours.
I walked to the mailbox hoping to find the letter from Harry. Sure enough, there it was.
A smile appeared on my face. I took the rest of the mail and entered the house. I shut the door behind me and placed the mail on the table.
I grabbed the letter Harry had sent and flipped my converse off.
I ran up the stairs and into my light blue room, crashing onto my bed.
I loved my room. The light blue walls, the big space, the massive closet, the white Christmas lights I had hung up on the ceiling.
I tore open the envelope and pulled out the the ticket along with a note.
I unfolded the slip of paper. It said;
"Autumn, I miss you so much, and I can't wait to see you. Your flight will leave on Friday at 10 AM. Im pretty sure you can figure out your seat and where to go ;) See you soon.
- Harry xx."
I smiled at his handwriting, sloppy. I looked at the plane ticket. I'd have to hide it from my parents. They wouldn't let me go, so I'd have to go there in secret. I put the ticket in my wallet.
It was Wednesday, two days to go.
Might as well start packing. I grabbed a suitcase from my closet and put everything I needed in there.
Clothes, a few pairs of different types of shoes, the $500 I had from multiple babysitting jobs, I'll pack everything else later.
I zipped the suitcase closed and put it back in the closet.
I'm so excited to see Harry again. Just being able to hear him speak made me feel safe and happy.
When my parents were home, or when Im at school, I didn't feel safe at all.
I was prone to get hurt some way.
But when Harry is with me, no one bothers me.
Harry and I had been friends since I was very little. We grew up together in Holmes Chaple, Cheshire, and we were always there for each other.
Neither of us were popular in school, that is until Harry auditioned for XFactor.
The bullying started when Harry first left for his first tour.
I was all alone, I didn't have any other friends other than Harry. It was hard.
Then there's my parents, they abuse me when they're pissed, or just plain out drunk. They drink...a lot.
They became alcoholic when my little sister passed. She was only 8 when she died in a car crash. Her name was Summer.
It was a big loss for our family, and my parents were very depressed, so they turned to drinking to calm them down.
I heard the front door and looked out my window, Mother was home.
I braced myself for what she'd ask me to do.
"Autumn," she yelled.
"Yes mum?" I answered.
"Come here!" She sounded pissed.
I ran down the stairs.
"Yes mum?" I said again.
"Why are there still dirty dishes? And there are crumbs all over this carpet. What the hell have you been doing?" She asked impatiently.
"I-I didn't see the dishes Mum I'm sorry I'll go wash them now," I stuttered.
"Get me some wine," she added.
I nodded and walked off into the kitchen. Clean the dishes or be beaten? Much rather clean.
I took a wine glass and got some red wine, pouring it in. I took it carefully to my mum.
"Here," I handed it to her and she nodded, motioning I could leave.
I walked back into the kitchen and washed the dishes, putting them into the rack to dry.
When I was finished I grabbed the vacuum and vacuumed the rug. I put that back and ran up the stairs.
I saw my phone's screen was lit up. 5 new messages from Harry.
"Hi,"
"Autumn?"
"Hellooooo,"
"Where are you,"
"Autummmmnnnnnmnmnmn,"
I laughed and replied.
"Hi Harry,"
"Yay you're alive :D"
"I got the plane ticket and your note"
"2 days I can't wait"
"Me either." I replied.
"Autumn!" I heard my mum call.
"Yeah?"
"Go mow the grass,"
I groaned,
"Okay,"
I texted Harry,
"I gtg :( text you in a bit,"
"Aw. Bye babe,"
I looked at what he had sent again. He's never called me 'babe' before. I sat there staring with wide eyes.
Babe?
"AUTUMN," my mum yelled.
"Coming ma!" I replied. I set my phone down and ran down the stairs.
She had a smirk on her face.
"Come here, look at this," she ushered me over to her. She handed me a magazine.
Harry was on the front cover with some girl.
"Who is this?!" I yelled.
"Her name is Chloe. She's Harry's new girlfriend," she studied my expressions carefully.
I was not going to believe this.
"It's probably just rumors mum, just for publicity," I looked at her. She had another smirk. She pressed play on the TV and there was Harry with the same girl on the magazine.
They were walking hand in hand, talking, laughing. I felt my cheeks grow hot.
Harry leaned in and kissed her cheek. My eyes widened. The anger building up inside of me could not be contained.
