Mark's POV
I walked down the halls. Teenagers ran out of the school as if all the teachers had the plague. As I walked through the cafeteria I saw Jack sitting on a table reading a script.
"Hey, Jackaboy." I smiled and sat next to him. Jack quickly shut his script and turned to me.
"Jackaboy?" He smirked at me.
"I don't know, it was something I just thought of." I shrugged. My face tingled with pink at the weird nickname I gave him. As if I couldn't be more creepy...
"Oh, okay." He thought for a moment, "Markimoo." He giggled and messed with the pages of his script. My blush darkened at the nickname and his adorable giggle.
"So, you're practicing?" I asked, my eyes wandering over the cover. It was a black binder with a piece of paper taped to the front. It said 'Fame' in big letters, designed as if it were a big sign on Broadway. Jack's name was written on the bottom.
"Y-Yeah." Jack bit his lip.
"Do you mind if I watch? In case you need help." I wrung my hands together. Jack's head shot up and looked at me.
"Uh, n-no thanks... Sorry..." He scooped up his bag, "I have to get to rehearsal." He stated simply and started to walk away.
"Hey! What's wrong?" I asked softly and put my hand on his shoulder.
"N-Nothing." His body faced towards me, but he avoided my gaze.
"Are you sure? I can stay with you at rehearsal-" I offered.
"NO!" He shouted and interrupted me. My eyes widened and I looked at Jack. "N-No. Sorry. I just," he smiled softly, "I don't want the show to be spoiled for you, okay?"
"Okay." I nodded and gave him a reassuring smile. Jack turned and walked to the theatre room.
