Mark's POV
I dropped my backpack on the ground. I sat down on the large, blue bench and stared out at the creek. Bits of moss grew around the edges and lily pads floated around on top of the cool, dark water. Duck swam around trailed by little ducklings in search of food.
A huge, lush, green forest grew tall and proud behind the lake-ish creek. I remember going out there hiking once, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Maybe I should take Jack out there sometime...
I tore of a chunk of the sandwich I didn't finish at lunch. I tossed it out into the water. The ducks swam to it immediately. I tossed out bit by bit until I had nothing left, and the ducks swam away happily.
Suddenly something buzzed in my pocket. I jumped before I realized that someone was calling me. I rolled my eyes as I pulled my phone out of my back pocket to see who it was.
Jackaboy♥
I smirked at the name and answered the call.
"Hey." I bit my lip waiting for his response.
"Mark! Have you seen Gizmo?!" Jack panicked. I knew how much he loved his dog; he must've gotten out or something.
"No, I haven't. Sorry..." I frowned and looked around.
"Okay..." Jack sighed sadly. "If you see him let me-"
"Oh, here he is-" I interrupted Jack when I saw the dog running down the street. Suddenly Gizmo jumped on top of me and knocked me down, licking me and pouncing on my chest. "G-Get off of me!" I laughed at the tiny dog.
"You found him?!" You could hear Jack smiling through the phone.
"Yep. I'll bring him over now." I sat up and pulled the dog into my arms. I scooped up my bag and walked over to my car. "See ya in a bit."
"Bye, Mark!" Jack happily ended the call.
I set the dog in the passenger seat and started my car. I drove down to Jack's house, Gizmo bouncing excitedly next to me. Finally I arrived at the little white house. I picked up Gizmo and carried him to the front door. Jack must have been waiting, as soon as I got to his porch the door swung open.
"GIZMO!" Jack shouted at the puppy. It jumped out of my arms and ran over to Jack. Jack scratched the dog all down his back, chin, and head. He let the dog run inside before closing the door. "Uh, thank you, Mark. For finding Gizmo for me." He stood with his hand behind his back, rocking on his heels. He looked up at me with sparkling blue eyes and bit his lip.
"No problem." A small smile creeps on my lips as I look at him. Everybody thinks of him as this big guy you don't want to mess with, but really he's just the sweetest boy ever.
We stood in comfortable silence, just thinking as we stared into each other's eyes. Nothing needed to be said. We were just fine like this. I stared into the sky that was trapped inside of Jack's eyes, and he stared into my almond eyes. It would've seemed odd to anybody that walked by, just two teenage boys staring at each other silently and smiling like idiots.
Suddenly Jack broke our stare but taking a step closer. He wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggled into my chest. I hugged him back and rest my head on his shoulder. Jack buried his face in the crook of my neck. I could feel his lips curl into a wide smile.
