Mira's Pov
This is wrong, all blooming wrong. How had I fallen for this trap? Surely I shouldn't have trusted his words. But I had to go against my instinctual belief and gave it a go. Amrita being in danger is my fault, if I hadn't gotten involved with wolves and vampires alike, she would have been safe in the comfort of her home back in London.
I couldn't just sit back and let her suffer at the hands of these monsters. If she dies or something terrible happens to her, how was I suppose to face our parents who have been nothing but kind to me since I was a mere child? It would shatter them and that would mean me paying their 'kindness with ungratefulness'. So with that in mind here I was already questioning my decision to meet Nolan alone.
I sighed inwardly, thinking what George would do once he realises I was gone. I had sneaked out in the middle of the night to confront Amrita's captors. Though foolish, it was worth giving a try since we had no trace and nothing to go by in the weeks she's been gone. As long as they let her go, I was willing to pay the consequences.
As I approached the people who are meant to take me to Nolan, my wolf and fairy got really restless so I just shut them out. They wanted me to turn back and seek the comfort of our mate. They won't stop growling and it was becoming severely annoying. I didn't fail to notice the cynical smirk on the vampires in front of me once they saw me.
"Let's go, we haven't got much time to waste." I said impatiently not giving them control of the situation. There were four of them and they made a move to grab me but I growled threateningly at them. "I came here on my own accord, you don't have to hold or touch me. I'm coming with you to see Nolan since he has my baby sister." They looked sceptical at first but backed off eventually since I made it clear no one was touching me until I saw Amrita.
"Let's move it then, his majesty is waiting impatiently for you our queen." The shortest of the four men said and I growled at the word 'Our queen' I wasn't their queen and would never be their queen. Not now, not ever. I brushed that aside though not wanting to hang around any longer in case George realises I was gone. I was sure he'd know very soon.
A portal was opened in front of us and as we got in I could feel my heart wanting to jump out of my chest. I had heard of portals but haven't been in one until now. George had told me voodoo was needed to open one and since wolves hated voodoo, they didn't travel by portals.
Not long later, we found ourselves in what I guessed was the vampire kingdom. My senses were on alert the sweet sickening smell of vampires were beyond overwhelming. As we walked further into the castle, everyone bowed their heads to me. Rather than feel proud my wolf and fairy hated every minute of it. And so did I. Don't get me wrong the place was beautiful but it just wasn't home for me.
