I stared vacantly out the window while Zoe speaks of something about how Jev's, her model boyfriend, party went yesterday. She kept on saying how awesome the party went and how I missed so much by locking myself in my room all week long. I could hear her but somehow it wouldn't process in my brain.
I saw a girl sitting with a guy at the other side of the street. My heart sank. I remember his smile. I remember our laugh together. I remember every single time we touch. I remember the feeling of his lips pressed to mine; the way he intimidates me; the smell of his skin. However I try to forget him, I can't. I felt for him and I still do.
"Hey!" Zoe snaps her fingers in front of my face. I shift my gaze from the window and focused on her.
"I'm sorry, what were you saying?"
"You've been like this all week. You've got to move on! Come on." She grabbed my arm and pulled me up.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"We're going shopping!" She squealed.
15 minutes later, we arrived at Florida Mall-my sister's favorite mall. She says it has everything. I couldn't agree more, it does have everything. She led me to the Prime Outlets section. "Shopping makes me happy all the time." She expresses.
"Good for you, sis," I said with a hint of sarcasm. I looked around. Unfortunately, today has been declared couples' day here in Florida Mall. This is torture: couples everywhere. Every corner of the mall there were people holding hands and kissing like there's no tomorrow.
At the back of my mind, I couldn't help but wonder where could Riley be at this hour? Was he with his brothers playing ball? Was he in the studio, recording? Or was he sitting in the park thinking what I was doing too?
I was lost in thought. I fished my phone out from my purse. I clicked on my speed dial, suddenly determined to call him and ask him myself rather that kill me with these thoughts of him. It ringed twice before Zoe pulls the phone and ended it.
"Are you insane?" She demanded.
"Maybe, I am!" I snapped then I took a deep breath. "I don't know. I just can't stop thinking about him, you know."
"I can see that." She sighed. "Look, you've got to at least try."
A familiar guy was standing behind my sister. He was wearing a white cap backwards, a blue muscle shirt that shows off his bicep and Converse shoes that match his white cap. He was hot and noticeable. All the girls around us had stopped what they were doing and eyes flew on him.
"Oh good, he's here." I muttered sarcastically.
Jev twirled my sister into a passionate kiss. She seemed surprise which meant that she didn't intend to invite him. Although, his presence still bugs me. Like I need more couples to intimidate me more, thank you very much. I tried not to look at them.
I cleared my throat. "Thanks, guys! Really, I appreciate it."
My sister pulled away. "Oh, I'm sorry."
"Hello Chloe. God, you look exactly alike. I can't tell you apart. It was a good thing I kissed the right twin." He laughed.
