Chapter 20
All of the members of the Royals guard were around me, and King Cody and Queen Juliet were in front of me. I knew that I might not live, but that’s alright. If I become a vampire, I’m sorry David.
I stand in the middle, and then King Cody says, “Michael will be the one who will be doing the Royals sacrifice.” Michael? Michael walks out from behind King Cody. He was beaten badly. He has a small bruise on his left side cheek.  He had two gold colored cups and a knife in his hands. I looked at Michael, as he was in front of me. “These are the Golden Cups of the Royals Vampire Powers. With humans blood and there sacrifice, we will have magical powers more than speed, strength, and our vision.” He placed the things on a table in front of me. He grabbed my hand and sliced it with a knife.
“Ouch,” I cried.
“Sorry,” he murmured. I look at him; did he really want to do this? I thought I was his friend. He quickly directed my hand right underneath one of the Golden Cups. When the cup was filled with my blood, he sat it on the table. He tore the bottom of his shirt and wrapped it around my bloody hand. Right after, Michael took the second cup and walked around collected blood from each vampire of the guard, including the King and the Queen. He started to walk towards me. Slowly, he sat the cup in front of me. “Here is the Royals blood and the blood of a mere human. We now will drink the blood of the human, as the human drinks the blood of the Royals.”
He handed me the cup of all of their blood. “First, the human will drink our blood,” he said calmly, while looking at me. I lifted the cup to my lips. “No,” I heard someone say, but it was too late. David was behind the guard. I stood where I was and looked at him. “Why?” he mouthed at me. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. However, even with the interruption of David, the ceremony continued. I watched Michael, as he gave each guard a sip, including himself, of my blood. When he reached to the King and Queen, he bowed each time they drank.
Michael took the cup from the King, when they were done, and walked over to me. He set the cup down and laid me on the floor. “In the name of the Royals highnesses, we sacrifice this human for our special powers.” Michael, then, grabbed the knife and pressed into my heart. I screamed in agony, and I could slightly hear David’s tears. “After you die, you shall be alive. If not, then, the ceremony was a fail.” He bowed at the King and Queen and left my side.
King Cody walked to me after the guards went back into the shadows. “You’ll now be immortal. Learn our ways, if not, than die.” He took Juliet’s hand and went towards the light.
When he left, I took a minute to prepare myself to handle what was coming.
“David,” I cried. He slowly came into my vision. My eyesight had become a little unfocused. “I’m sorry,” I reached out my hand to touch his face. His face was dark red. I knew he was crying. I felt so bad for betray him, but I didn’t know what else I could’ve done.
“You are an idiot. You could’ve told me. I would’ve protected you.”
“This is better. This way no one gets hurt.”
He looked at me with soft eyes, “Yeah, well you got hurt.”
“David, if I make it, will you take me away from here?”
“Yes, I will.”
“But if I do die tonight, I want you to take my body to my mom.”
His tears had come onto my face. “Yeah, I will. Jessica, I love you.” He leaned in a kissed my lips. His lips tasted like a sweet delight of heaven. I knew I couldn’t resist the force to close my eyes, so I drifted into what felt like a dream. I love you, David.
