Chapter 1 : Jumping Out of My Window is Considered Normal to Me
****I woke up to the sound of my alarm screeching annoying sounds as I slammed on the snooze button and buried my face into my pillow. Then, something popped in my head, I have school today. Damn it!!!
"Grace! Wake up!" I practically somewhere in between muttered and screamed to myself. I quietly slid out of bed, and ran to the washroom to take a shower. I had to take a cold shower since my family couldn't afford hot water, so I didn't have a problem with taking a quick shower.
Once I turned off the taps in the shower, I got out of my shower, put a robe on, ran to my closet, and took a couple of minutes just to find an outfit to wear. I decided on high-waisted black skinny jeans with a white knitted top on top of a white collared blouse. I quickly changed into my outfit and ran down the stairs for breakfast. My dad was asleep on the couch so I quickly got a granola bar and went back to my room. I then put my math textbook in my bag, slumped it over my shoulder, and jumped out of the window of my bedroom to run to school.

I was so tired that day because I got no sleep the night before. I always have nightmares in my sleep so I have to take pills in order to go to sleep without waking up screaming and in tears, my doctor said I could even get a heart attack with the way I wake up without taking those pills. I never told anyone about this besides my best friend, Avery. I basically trusted my life with her. My therapist thinks I get these dreams because my mom died. Oh, I forgot to mention, my mom died in a car crash two years ago.
After jumping out of my window, I landed on a sidewalk that leads the way to school. Don't worry about me getting hurt jumping out the window, since my room was on the second floor, I have my own method.
I get on the ledge of my window, jump on the top of a very tall shack right under my ledge of my window, climb to the roof of the house, go on one of those fake balconies on the second floor of my house's backyard, and go down a rope I always have, that is attached to the metal railings that go fully around the balcony itself. It seems like it would take a long time, but I got used to doing it so it only took one minute. Jumping out of my window is considered normal to me since I do it everyday.
My house is pretty close to the school so I always walked to school. I always went to school an hour early because... well, because my dad has been drinking a lot ever since my mom died. To avoid getting accidentally hurt (because when my dad is drunk you never know if he may hit you), I always went to school early and went to read in the library in the school.
_*_*_*_Once I made it to school, I walked to the library and entered through the front doors. I walked to the mystery/romance book section to look for a book I've been reading for the past week to continue reading it. Once I spotted it, I grabbed it right away and took a seat on one of the lounge chairs. I also spotted the chair I always like to sit in, and recognized a guy sitting beside my chair and was worried to sit there in case it would get awkward.
I noticed I was staring at whoever this was for a while. He turned around, which I was guessing he felt that someone was staring at him which he was right, so I quickly turned my head at the book shelf my book was always at, in hopes he didn't catch me or see who I was. I guess he acknowledged my presence but then just turned back to his book... Well at least I thought he did. I turned my head very slightly and slow and instantly recognized who he was; Tyler Simmons. Tyler Simmons is a popular jock who is on the football team of the high school. I noticed me staring in his direction again, but I wasn't staring at him, I was staring at the book in his hands; Catcher In The Rye. I was looking at the book in his hands because that was the book I just finished reading. It was an amazing book!
