Chapter 9 : Damn He Lives In The Penthouse
****"Oh my gosh! That's so cute!" Avery squealed at me but I don't see what's to go crazy about.
"Why are you so exited?"
"Because! Don't you know? Tyler doesn't talk to any of the girls out of school. He may be a popular jock, but he does not like to talk to any of the girls out of school. Don't you get what I'm talking about? He gave you a rose! He's totally interested in you!" Avery continued to ram off about Tyler and that he's 'interested' in me. He isn't interested in me. Obvious enough.
Once we got to the building where I suppose the apartment is, I waited for Avery to park her car. She pulled in into a parking spot and once the car was parked, I got out of the car to stop listening to that nonsense Avery is getting overly exited about. We started walking to the door and once we hot inside the building, we headed to the check counter. I took a moment to look around to see what the apartment looked like. Basic striped wallpaper designs, grey lounge chairs and most of all it looked way too expensive.
"Avery! This place looks to expensive and this is your place!"
"It is expensive. For the penthouse in this building."
I felt more relieved with her saying that, but I just couldn't stop thanking her for helping me through all of this. There was a man standing there and it looked like he was exhausted. Like I could see huge eye bags. He had dark brown hair (must I say I think he has a lot of missing hair) and brown eyes. He didn't look too friendly and it was easy to tell that he was in his 40s.
"Room 122." Avery said to the man as he nodded and gave her the keys to the apartment. That's so weird that she just said her name and that he would give the keys to her. "Don't worry. He's a close friend to my dad so he knows me." Avery explained to me. That's when I got the ah hah moment. We continued to walk to the elevator. Once we got into the elevator, Avery pressed level 10 but the door opened again to oh my gosh. Tyler. He lives here?! Hope not. Avery grasped my wrist hard smirking at me. Damn you Avery. I offered a friendly smile at Tyler.
"Hey, Grace?" Tyler said to me questioning my name if he got it right. I guess that makes sense.
"Hi. And yes my names Grace." I replied to him as I got a small chuckle but he didn't see it. I moved out of the way so Tyler could press a button to whichever floor he was going. He moved over and pressed- oh my gosh he live in the penthouse?! Wtf?! Me and Avery looked to each other and we could exactly tell what each other was thinking. Damn, he lives in the penthouse. Back in time now, be just awkwardly moved over to the other side of the elevator and went on his phone. It took at least ten seconds until the time of silence when the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Me and Avery started to walk out of the elevator and once we got to the door of the apartment, Avery started laughing at me and squealing at the same time. She's so weird, that's why I love her. She unlocked the door and once I walked in there, I don't even know if I was surprised. Avery is sometimes a clutter, and the place is very UN-CLUTTERED. Everything was very simple, even with the colors. The floor is a glossy cement type floor, which must I say looks nice. There's a small kitchen and all the cabinets were white, with white quartz counter tops. There was a small couch that was a beige/cream/white color. We headed to the washroom and it was a nice, clean, standard washroom. When we started walking to the door of the only bedroom in the apartment, Avery stopped walking."Nothing has been done to the bedroom so there is only a mattress and a clothes rack."
"It's okay Avery. Everything you've done for me is amazing, I can't thank you enough."
I pulled Avery in for a hug. We spent the rest of the day unpacking all of my stuff. Until it was late at night, Avery decided to sleep over since she was too tired and lazy to go to her car and drive home, which was awesome, we can have a movie night, yay.
