Chapter 10 : Marlie & Marlisa
****No no no! Martin and Julia should be together!" I said to Avery
"NO. Martin and Elisa should be together. They have more things in common! Like their a perfect match!"
We were arguing (it wasn't a fight though) on the movie we were watching. The movie is about a guy named Martin, who met a lonely girl named Julia, but he had a girlfriend named Elisa who he really liked. But there was one problem; He was starting to fall for Julia as she did with him. I ship Marlia. Avery ships Malisa. Marlia is better. This movie has been our favorite movie since the beginning of high school.
"We should go to a party tonight!"
"Nah! We have school tomorrow! And I'm going to go to school tonight to practice acro today!"
"GRACE. You work so hard you need a break. We don't even have to go to a party, just go out and enjoy yourself, that's what your mom would want you to do."
Avery pulled me into a hug that lasted a couple seconds. "Let's go to a party?" Avery tried to ask me again. I wanted to go out, but I'm too traumatized. I don't want to get hurt. People are dangerous and you can't trust everyone. Some people are crazy. "I can't Avery. I don't feel safe out especially when it's late." I replied apologetically. Avery needs to understand how I feel. She isn't seeing it. Of course I won't blame her for that, it's just she needs to look at my perspective. She doesn't always think about about how dangerous people can be, even from our school. "I'm sorry Grace. You've been hurt and your in pain, but you need to let people in. Others do want to help you. I love you Grace, your my best friend and I'm here for you, I promise." Avery apologized to me and that made me feel a lot better. I do cut people out of my life, because I don't want to hurt others. When people came into my life before, they got bored of me and then left me. I am a pain. My dad had a reason to be like the way he was with me; I was annoying and I was just another mouth to feed. I felt a tear stream down on the side of my cheek.
"Come here." Avery gave me once again another hug. Except this one was showed more affection and I could even feel my own desperation for someone to stay with me. For someone to be there for me. A desperation for love. But this love, is a caring love.
"You know what. Let's go to a party. To get my mind of things"
"You sure Grace?"
"Yah, if you don't say yes I'll change my mind"
"ok ok! Let's go! Let me grab my keys and my phone."
I can't believe I'm going to a party. Why did I even say I wanted to go now. I went to the bedroom to pick an outfit. I went to look for the most conservative outfit, I know, I'm so fancy when it comes to parties.
I opened one of my boxes and I just couldn't find a conservative shirt! God damn it. Wheres the right outfit when you need it the most?
I grabbed a crop top that was a light lavender color and that was a velvet material. Might I also add that the shirt is a long sleeve crop top. At least the shirt is a bit more conservative than my other crop tops. I changed into the shirt and I also slipped on some dark blue high waisted skinny jeans.
I grabbed my phone and stuck it into my pockets and when I got to the door, Avery was ready. I slipped on some Nike running shoes. I opened the door and made sure to grab the apartment key to give to the man at the counter. I locked the door and then me and Avery went into the elevator. Once we got to the ground floor, I made sure to hand the keys to the man at the counter and both me and Avery got into her car and started to drive to the party that Avery claimed to know where it would be.
