Missy
I finished the final touches of beating my face and gawked at myself in the mirror.
"You look cute," Ashley said while watching me get ready for the party tonight. I simply nodded.
"I know, but thanks for the reminder."
"So, can yo--"
"No, I will not stalk Ben at this party. Maybe if you'd come yourself then you can do all that...don't you think?"
Ashley sighed deeply. "Missy, you heard what Don said at lunch the other day. He wants me to keep my distance, so I'm doing that."
I strolled out of the bathroom and adjusted my dress before speaking. "Since when did that fuck nigga Donovan Woods become your ol' boy?"
"Well, it is Will's party and they're all best friends...so I get it."
The sound of a car horn went off just as I started to talk. "Look, I don't know what happened with you and Bennett, but y'all need to figure it out. In the meantime, a bihh gotta go."
"Have fun," Ashley said, following me outside to leave in her own car as well.
"Ehh, I'll try. Call me if you need me, Ash." I added as I slid in the front seat of Kenny's car.
"Hey," I said, when seeing his face.
"Hey you," he replied while resting his hand on my inner thigh. I looked ahead waiting for him to start driving, but he stayed put.
"You plan on driving or you want me too?" I questioned him with curious eyes.
"We not going anywhere until I get my kiss," he told me. A small smile formed on my face. I leaned in to him and he placed his on my chin to lift my head up. Our lips connected briefly before I pulled away and pecked his once more.
"That petty ass kiss," he whined.
"Us kissing always leads to you trying to do something else with me."
Kenny shook his head and started the car back up while responding to me. "So...What's so bad about you throwing that shit back for me, baby?"
I sighed in irritation. We had been over this too many times and he still would try to push the subject. "I'm not ready...You know that!"
"We been together almost a year and you still holding out. Meanwhile, my shit turning blue."
I rolled my eyes. "That's not my problem. Do what the fuck you want to do."
"Oh, I will..." he mumbled lowly, but I still heard his remark loud and clear. Kenny removed his hand from my thigh and placed it on the wheel.
Donovan
Will's party was liver than I expected it to be. The dj's music selection was on point and all the ladies were looking just right tonight.
"Aye! Man, this bihh live ain't it, bruh bruh?!" I jumped slightly when a tipsy Bennett nudged me.
I chuckled a bit and took his cup from his hand. "Yeah, this hoe bussin'. Cool lil' vibe," I spoke over the music and tossed his cup to the side. He frowned at me wasting the alcohol.
"You don't need that anyway," I patted his back and put my arm around him while leading him to the living room where the dance floor was.
"Shana, dance with my boy Ben!" I called out to a familiar girl who was vibin' to the music by herself. She nodded and came over to rock with Ben.
His eyes widened as if he didn't know what to do, but I elbowed him and signaled for him to get closer to her. Ben shrugged off his hesitation and did as told.
