Donovan
"Ah, nice of you to grace us with your presence today since you ditched us last night." Ben tried to make me feel some sort of guilt about leaving his house early last night, but it wasn't working.
I laughed and opened my locker with a small grin on my face. "Some of us have lives outside of fucking with y'all, bro."
"Where'd you go anyway?" Will finally broke his silence.
"Out..." I said.
"Mhmm, let me find out you fucking with Leah again." I cringed at Bennett even bringing that girl's name up. I'm still trying to get over her and how she played me last year.
"Hell nah! That's dead."
"I'm just saying. You know she transferred back here for the rest of senior year, right?" My eyes widened and I sighed deeply.
"Since when?"
"Since me and Ben saw her in the principal's office with her mom enrolling here again," Will chimed in.
"Great." I lied while shutting my locker closed.
Just as I about to speak again, I noticed that Missy was making her way over to us. I kept my eyes on her as she approached.
"Um, hey y'all," she said, greeting all three of us.
Bennett and Will gave me a skeptical look, but spoke as well. "Hey, Missy."
"Sup, pretty lady," Will just had to flirt. I mentally rolled my eyes.
"What's good?," I said dryly, not sure of how to greet her.
"Ben, Will...mind if I borrow Donovan for a minute?" she politely asked, surprisingly. I cracked a smile.
"Sure," they spoke in unison, but still were suspicious of me. I followed behind her down the hall to her locker and waited for her speak.
"What's up, friend? " I joked with her and she shook her head.
"Um, by any chance can you erase everything that I told you last night?" My brows furrowed in reply at her suggestion.
"Why? I thought we had a pretty good time coolin', right?" I asked.
Missy nodded before speaking. "I mean, I enjoyed your company. I just don't want you out here telling people that you saw me crying and shit," she said in a low tone. I frowned at the fact that she really thought I would do her like that.
"Seriously, though?" I questioned.
"Do I really seem like the type of guy that would ever go around telling people stuff like that, Missy?"
She hesitated to speak and sighed. "I-I just don't want to get burned again. It's bad enough that Kenneth tried to play me in front of everybody and then called me a virgin mary."
Hearing her talk about this nigga Kenny was irritating. He needed his ass beat for being such a bitch made nigga.
"Hello, are you hearing me Donovan?" Missy asked, snapping me out of it.
"I hear you loud and clear. And I'm promising that it'll stay between me and you."
Missy exhaled in relief with a stern expression. "I'm gone hold you to that..."
"Mhm, all of us aren't fuck boys like Kenny."
She actually chuckled in reply. I mean, legit laughed out loud for the first time. I think she might've even snorted, but it actuslly was adorable.
