Many hours after a much needed sleep, I'm finally awake to the sound of my phone ringing. I squint and rub my eyes at the brightness of my phone. It's Cam...

"Hello?" I ask in a way more droggy voice than intended.

"Sam! You're alive, phew..." he says, although he doesn't sound like he's joking, he is.

I sigh and sit up in my bed, and stare at my suitcases on the ground. Today, is the day I unpack everything, from vacation and the move..

"Yeah... Sorry I ruined your night last night. Too dank for me I suppose.." I say, standing up and watching my step.

"You didn't Sam. Anyways, I was just calling to see if you wanted lunch later?" he asks in the kind, cousinly voice. Honestly, I think the boys are hanging around a lot just to make me feel better about Jack leaving...

I walk across my small living room's hardwood floors. I've never really lived alone, and it feels weird to have this two bedroom apartment, all to myself. It doesn't feel right without Jack G... "Uh, I'll have to see what I'm doing.." I say, even though I already know in doing nothing. "What time is it anyways?" I ask, too lazy to look myself.

"Ah, okay. Uh 10:45," he says. Not too late.

I make my way to the kitchen, and open the fridge, searching for food. I just went to the store before we left, so there's at least some food... "Okay. Well I'll text you if I'm free later," I say, not wanting to hurt his feelings or anything. I don't think he'll take it the hard way if I don't go though.

"Okay, Sam. See ya later, love you," he says.

I smile, he's so nice, even simple I love you's can make my day. "Love you too," and with that I end the call, start up some Pandora, and continue my search for food.

My hair hangs loose in a ponytail that I'm too lazy to fix, and I settle on a bagel. I pop it in the toaster and stand with my hands on the counter, facing away from it, staring into space. The music drowns me out from the world until I hear a small squeaky noise. What the...

I look down at my feet, and running straight across is a mouse! "Aaah!" I let out an ear piercing scream, before I cover my mouth and quickly run over to the living room, I plant my butt on the couch. I definitely do not want my neighbors thinking I'm getting killed, over a mouse. Shit.

I sit there for a few seconds, staring by the counters for the little rodent. Looks like it's gone, but I'm still reluctant to go back. Then I hear a knock at the door. Great, I bet it's the cops, someone filed a noise complaint and got the security..

I sigh, walking over to the door, bracing myself for security.. and another little rat running around. I stand up straight, and open the heavy-swinging door. It's Noah?

"Noah..." I say. Why is he... Oh yeah, he heard my girly scream about a stupid situation. God damnit Sam, you're not a girly girl who screams at rats. I laugh before I see his blank, worried expression can say anything.

"Are, are you okay?" he asks slowly, obviously seeing that I'm fine.

I tilt my head back, "yeah," I say and jab my thumb behind me, "there's a fuckin mouse in my apartment," I say with a chuckle.

He squints his eyebrows, "a rat?" he asks like he's never heard of such a thing.

I tilt my head back in laughter, and take a step back into the doorway. "Yeah... Guess I left some food boxes out or something," I say and stop, ready to say goodbye.
