After school
The school session was over and I was ready to go home. My day was going good until I heard that shit with Kalissa. I wanted to punch her ass in the face one time to get my point across.
I pulled into the driveway of my house and got out the car. I unlocked the door and went inside to see my mom, dad, aunt, and uncle. I called that yesterday night.
I dropped my book bag and sat on the couch across from them.
"Yvonnie, can we all talk?" My mom asked, rubbing her belly.
"I'm here and I'm listening..." I shrugged and sat back.
"Look, baby, when your father and I gave you to your aunt and uncle, they treated and raised you so well that we knew it was gonna be hard to take you back, away from them." She paused and looked up at me. I was just staring at them all, still listening.
"So instead, we continued to be in your life, watching you grow up into a beautiful, beautiful young lady. We never wanted to make you feel like we wanted to get rid of you cause of the..." She took a pause again and hissed in pain. "Oh no."
I raised my eyebrow in confusion, "What?"
"Baby you alright?" My dad asked my mom. She shook her head and cried out,
"The—ahh!" She held her belly. "The baby! I think it's coming!"
"Wait, you're not due until another month." My aunt Selena said.
"Just get to me to the fucking hospital already!" She screamed. My dad quickly held my moms hand and helped her up. We all rushed out the door and got inside the car.
To the ride to the hospital was hell. Everyone tried to calm my mom down but she just kept hollering and crying. She told us the baby was coming like 3 times. I was nervous and it even wasn't me.
"Selena how far are we from the hospital?!" My dad yelled from the back seat.
"5 minutes Maurice! Loren just stay calm!"
"I can't!" When she went into another contraction, she yelled/cried again. This was painful to watch and listen to.
After 5 minutes we pulled into the hospital. The doctors/nurse came out with a wheelchair. We carefully got her out and walked her over to the wheelchair. When she sat down, they all rushed her inside with my mom. My dad was by her side.
My aunt parked the car and we all got out. We signed in and stayed in the waiting room. I decided to call Giana and Odell to keep me company.

"Mooooom! Odell won't give me back my controller!" Kordell snitched on me.
"Odell, give Kordell back his controller." My mom said calmly while cooking dinner.
I kissed my teeth and gave Kordell back his Play Station controller. Little crybaby.
My phone started vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out and checked to see the Caller I.D, which read "My Princess💍😍"
I quickly pressed the green circle and answered, "Wassup ma?"
"Hey um, my mom went into labor and I'm in the hospital right now." She sounded a bit, nervous.
"Wasn't she suppose to be due next month?" I asked curiously.
"Mhm..My brother is premature. Can you come by the hospital please?" She asked.
"Alright I'll be there in 10." I said before ended the phone call.
"Was that Yvonnie?" My mom asked as she stirred the pot carefully.
"Yeah. Her mom went into labor so I'm gonna go down to the hospital to keep her company." I slipped on my Nike slides and grabbed my keys off the counter.
"Okay, be careful." I nodded my head before leaving out the door.

I sat in the chairs, picking at my nails until I heard a familiar voice. I looked up to see Giana signing in. I got up and hugged her tightly.
"Hey Vonnie. Any update on your mom?"
"Not really. She's still in labor." I answered and sighed. "I'm just worried about my baby brother."
"Don't worry Vonnie. Just pray for the best." She said as we walked over to the chairs.
"Hi Giana." My aunt greeted her. Giana smiled and waved,
"Hi second mom."
Giana sat down and we talked for a bit until I seen Odell walked in. He signed in and walked over to us. I got up and kissed him then we went to sit down.

5 hours later, everyone was in the chairs knocked out, except me. I was on my phone, listening to music. My dad walked out the room and I took my earphones out. He looked at me and smiled.
"Your baby brother is here."
