Nope. Nope. Nope. There is no way I'm working with him. I don't. I won't. I can't. I shan't.
I went up to Ms.McClain desk with the paper. She looked up from the computer and gave me a warm smile.
"Hey Yvonnie. What's wrong?"
I placed the paper in front of her and went down to my name and the person I was teamed up with.
"Ms.McClain I can't work with that person. Can I please get another partner?" I asked her, but she shook her head.
"I'm sorry Yvonnie but I can't. Everyone already has a partner and I can't switch out. It's only for 2 weeks." She said. 2 weeks is a long time.
I was going to try and persuade her to change but I knew she wasn't going for it so I just sighed and put the paper back on the board. Everyone was talking to their patner, so I hesitantly walked over to Odell's desk.
He looked up and smiled. "So you're my partner."
"I'm only talking to you because of this project. After that, I want nothing to do with you." I snapped.
His smile soon faded and he shook his head. "Alright. How are we gonna work this thing out?"
"When we get our baby, we have to name it. So, I come over to your house around 5 to do that."
"You need my address?" I gave him a 'duh' look. He sighed and took out a sheet of paper and wrote down his address. He handed me the paper and I took it, folding it and shoving it down my pocket.
There was an awkward silence after that but the bell rung, thank god. I grabbed my things and walked out.

I'm glad Yvonnie my partner for this project but I know it's gonna be hell. She's gonna be stubborn about everything.
After 5th hour I had to go to 6th hour which was gym so that was right up my alley to talk to coach. I walked inside and seen him in his office. I knocked on the door and walked in.
"Coach, can we talk?" I asked him. He nodded so I took a seat and chewed on my bottom lip.
"What's your problem Beckham?"
"I'm not going to the state finals on Saturday." I announced. Coach squinted his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Beckham, what the hell is wrong with you?! You're one of my best players on the team! Why aren't you going?!" His voice boomed. I knew if I told him the actual reason, he would kick my ass.
"I'm just not..." I finally answered.
"Well if you aren't going, don't bother to come back on the team." He shrugged and got up from his chair.
My mouth hung low. "What?! Are you serious?!"
He nodded, "Serious as a heart attack. Choose wisely Beckham. Get out my office." He dismissed. I sighed and got up from the seat, walking out.

6th hour was over so now I was walking back to 5th hour to pick up the baby for the project. I walked inside and everyone from 5th hour was there. Ms.McClain was giving out their babies and the stuff they needed. People were dropping the babies already. Tragic. I didn't see Odell yet so I went over to get the baby.
Ms.McClain handed me a baby girl and told me to write me and my partner name down on a sheet of paper so I did. After that she gave me some pampers, and a bottle.
As soon as we finished, Odell walked in. I went over to him with the baby girl.
"It's a girl."
He smirk appeared on his face, "You gon' be saying that to me one day, forreal."
"Oh shut up. I ain't having no baby by you." I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him.
"Yeah, we gon' see." He chuckled but I wasn't laughing. I had a serious facial expression.
"Anyways...I'm coming by your house around 5." I said to him. He simply gave me a head nod.
Once everyone got their baby, Ms.McClain dismissed us.

"I told coach I wasn't gonna attend state finals." I told Jarvis. We were in my car and I was driving him home.
"You serious man?" I nodded.
"Look, I know you sad and all cause of what happened with Yvonnie but don't you think this is crazy?" He asked. I stopped at a red light and looked at him.
"Why would it be crazy?"
"Man, you're one of the best players on the team. You're giving up a big opportunity. Are you sure you wanna do this?" Same thing coach said. I thought long and hard. I am giving up a big opportunity.
"You're right Jar, I am giving up a big opportunity. I'll find other ways to make things right with Yvonnie." I came up with my decision.
"Good man. Good. Now drive." He said looking at the green light that was before us. I chuckled and drove off.

"And you wouldn't guess who I got partnered up with." I sat down on the couch with the baby girl cradled in my arm. I was telling my mother everything that happened today.
"Who?" My mom asked, curiously.
"Odell."
"Oh lord." She ran her fingers through her hair.
"Yeah, I have to go over his house so we can discuss the baby's name." I looked down at the baby and rocked her back and forth.
She cried a couple times in the car and I tried my best to keep her down and to stop crying and not crash my car at the same time.
"Is his parents going to be there?" She asked with an eyebrow raised.
"They should be mom. I'm not going to do anything with him. I'm still mad about Saturday." I reassured her.
"Okay good." She said. She dug in her back pocket and handed me my phone. "Here."
"Thanks mom." I smiled and pressed down on the power button, turning my phone on. When it turned on, I looked at the time. It was almost time for me to go by Odell's house.
I stood up and slipped on my Nike slides. "I'm about to go by Odell house mom."
"Alright sweetie, be safe." She went upstairs to her room. I grabbed my keys off the couch and left.
