Personally, my theory is that the yaoi brought Craig and Tweek together as a couple, and didn't "make them gay".
• Nobody can "turn gay". People just are born it. Many people could say this because what gender someone loves can't really be determined in early stages of childhood.
• Tweek and Craig don't seem very close before the episode, other than the fact they hang out in the same friend group and were both in the Kingdom of Kupa Keep. If it wasn't for the yaoi, they wouldn't have found each other and started their relationship.
To get the hidden story behind the episode, the yaoi is not to be the main focus. What should be focused on is how Craig and Tweek and the others around them act and think.
