Eragon the sequel

The Talk

After muttering the words in the ancient language Arya appeared before me on the surface of the mirror. I heard her happily shout "Eragon."

"Hello Arya," I said nicely.

"How goes things?" she queried.

"Well that's what I want to talk to you about.  I need your help.  We came across the perfect place to build but we need elven stone workers," I said hopefully.

"I can see to that .  I will select them by hand and as the queen I will be expected to accompany them if you are ok with that," Arya said hopefully.

"Of course, you're always  welcome here as long as it is under my control," I said happily because I knew that holding my emotions never works for me.

"So it's settled then. I will make my goodbyes to Du Welden today and lead you and the Elven stone workers here," I said hesitantly.

"Eragon?  What about us?  When you left we didn't say whether we will be together or not," Arya said hopefully.

"We will talk about us when you get here.  It's really not that far.  It only took three days on a boat to reach here," I said seriously. 

"I agree and I must go the elves now need me back." 

"Take care Arya.  I will see you in a few short days," I said longingly.

And with that I ended the spell and sat dumb-founded on my chair. I must have sat in the chair for an hour until Saphira said "Well that went very well for you now didn't it?"

"Yes, that did and she has feelings for me.  She even asked if we are together or not and in her voice and smile I think that she really wants to be with me," I said very happily.

"If we leave now you will get to see your elf woman sooner," Saphira mused.

"Ya and you will see your dragon mate sooner," I mused back.  She didn't say anything .  I quickly assembled every one and read my speech. 

"Hello everyone.  Thanks for taking the time to listen to me. Now I will be leaving in a few minutes and going back to gather the best stone workers that the elves have to offer. But queen Arya will be coming with me to keep watch over her stoneworkers. Any questions? No? Good then I will be off," I said  sincerely. 

After I finished concluding my speech Saphira flew in and landed beside me.  "Lets be off.  I am itching for a good flight," Saphira said excitedly. 

"As am I Saphira," I replied  excitedly.  With that I hopped onto her back using the spikes along her tail and back as a ladder.  We took to the skies,"I wish we could stay up here forever and forget all about the world and the problems that it brings,"I said hopefully.

"So do I little one, but you know that we both have a responsibility to this world and would you really like to leave Arya?"

"I hadn't even thought about that until now that we are going to see her I mean," I took a breath.  " What am I going to say," I said  nervously.

"I think you will know when the time comes," Saphira said calmingly. 

"So am I just going to twiddle my thumbs until we get to du Welden? " I questioned. 

"Ya..... pretty much,  but at least you have something to think about," Saphira mused.

"You are definitely right about me having something something to think about but I think that I would rather sleep."

"I will wake you when we get to the border."
