I said nothing about his previous remark and instead asked, "How do you know Luceane?"

"We met after you killed the rest of the shadows. I saw a white wolf come sprinting from behind a tent to your side. I rushed forward with a blade ready, thinking it may attack you out of fear. But when I got there, a bright light came from the wolf and it changed into her. After she made it clear that she wasn't going to cause any harm, she lifted you off the ground and brought you to one of the medical tents," he explained seemingly happily.

Luceane nodded her head not needing to add anything.

I decided not to ask anything more on the subject and turned to leave. "Wait, I have something to ask you," Eragon said quickly.

I turned to face him. "How did you freeze them all? If I or any else tried that, we would have been dead from the use of too much energy," he asked with a baffled look on his face.

"It's just something I have come to know over time and experience." And with that I turned and walked through the flap of the tent with the small dragon struggling to keep on pace with me. I walked quickly back to the tent that I had awoken in only a few moments earlier. There I found the rest of my things piled nicely in the corner. I put my sword belt on and the black cloak I wore during the fight with the attacking shadows. Underneath was my armour which, in addition to the arrow holes form a while back, it now had a large slash along the side where I had been cut in this last fight. Around the slash in the armour, it was stained red with my blood during the last fight. I thought that it was time for this chest piece to retire and be left alone. I lifted my bag and wandered out of camp towards my tent, the tiny dragon padding along at my side.

Eragon POV
I stood near the end of the tent where Evander had left only a moment ago.
" Could you please keep an eye on him to make sure that he allows his wound to heal before he tries to do something like training or running?" I asked Luceane.
She nodded and left the tent

Evander POV
It took longer than average to arrive at my tent, however after at least ten minutes of walking I entered the flap of the tent and saw a man standing in front of me. I recognized his purple armour almost immediately. "Atticus what brings you here?" I asked sarcastically. " To see how you are. Apparently you took a pretty good hit during that last fight," he said smiling. "It's no big deal to me, by tomorrow I will be able to fight again. Now it's late and I am going to go to sleep. I apologize, but I am going to have to ask you to leave," I said politely. He continued to smile and said, "That's fine with me, sleep well." He exited the tent and I heard his steps going away from my tent. I removed the shirt and tattered black pants, throwing them towards the chair by the table in the corner of the tent. I crawled under the covers ignoring the feeling of pain from the deep cut on my side. Soon I drifted into dreams where nothing could bother me. I awoke the next morning at the sight of the rising sun. The small dragon was sleeping at my side until it felt the ruckus I made when I awoke. I slowly sat up definitely feeling the pain from the wound on my side but I forced my way through it. I stood and dressed in the same pants as I had on yesterday. I turned and took a clean shirt from the small pile of clothing that I brought with me, which has been getting increasingly smaller since we arrived. I pulled my sword belt up from the ground and attached both it and my sword to my waist. I turned and exited the tent. I felt an instant flash of wind attack my face and I winced at the extremely bright sun and found myself wishing that it would just go out or something. I took my first few steps towards the camp when I felt a tugging at my pant leg. I glanced downwards to see the tiny dragon trying it's hardest to gain my attention. I crouched and the dragon leaped up onto my shoulder. I stood and as I did, I felt him tighten his grip but not to the point that it hurt, it was only to steady himself. I started walking towards the camp as the dragon sat and played with a few locks of my hair being careful not to forcefully remove them which would cause me a bit of undue pain, and to be honest, I already have enough of that as it stood. A few minutes later we walked into camp and all of the elves stared at me and the dragon, with a grin on their face, seemingly happy that he and the elves got to witness a dragon egg hatch in front of them. Slowly I made my way to the main tent in the middle of the camp.
