(Evander POV)
I opened my eyes  to see an elf that I didn't recognize sitting on an old wooden chair by the bed I am laying on. He had black hair, bright green eyes, and was wearing odd dark clothing. When he noticed my eyes had opened,  he said, " Do not try to move or stand Evander .   Eragon and Arya will be here shortly." With that he stood and left the tent I was staying in.

The tent was dome shaped with a wooden pole in the middle and the entire thing was brown. A few minutes later Arya walked through the door, followed closely by Eragon. Eragon was the first to speak. He asked "What happened when Arya came to get you?  Their entire army was dead and you almost. What did you do?"

"I encased them all in ice and then somebody who was with me broke the ice but I fainted after casting the spell," I answered, emotionless. Arya then asked, " Who was with you?"

"I don't know but she had a ware cat," I answered.

" When we came and found you were almost dead. What gave you those wounds?" Arya asked quickly after I finished.

"The Shadows I was fighting. My wards couldn't stop anything they tried to attack me with," I answered.

"How did you manage to heal me? The wounds that shadows inflicted to me were  not healable?"

"We didn't. Your wounds sealed up on their own. We still don't know why." Eragon said frustrated.

"Ok. That pretty much sums it up, so can we go do something now, please?  I don't like sitting around and if you don't have a job for me I am going to go practice," I said impatiently.

Eragon frowned. "Start with the downed trees in the forest.  We need firewood.   After you have cut a good amount you may go practice in the field by the lake," he said unhappily.

They turned and walked through the open tent door.  I stood and began to dress myself in the clothing I packed in the bag I brought which they had left on the nightstand for me. I put on a ragged blue shirt, torn blue trousers, and strapped my sword belt and both of my swords to my hip. I walked out the door of the tent and saw a mountain with a waterfall and a lake at the base of the mountain. We were on the beach. There was also a forest not too far from there.  It wasn't too large, but big enough.

Arya came walking up behind me and said, " Here is your armor but I don't think you will be using it again." She handed the light blue chain mail to me.  It had a hole in the back with burn marks all  around it.

"Thank you.  Now I must be going.  I have work to do and swords to swing so good bye. And with that I started walking towards the forest on the side of the lake. I arrived in a few minutes. I used a spell to take some of the good firewood out of the forest and bring it to me. I then used a spell that would allow me to carry it in thin air.  It took a lot of energy to do but I got it back to camp. I took energy out of the pommel of both my swords, restoring enough energy to practice.

(Eragon POV)
I just came out of a meeting with the stone workers. We finally set up a design that they would start the next day, but I couldn't help but be bothered by Evander.  He just didn't seem to care that he was mortally wounded and then healed in an unknown way by magic we didn't know anything about. And what was bothering me even more was the Shadows and how they attacked us.  Freezing magic on that scale should not be possible, but somehow Evander did it. I will ask him later, but now I must go find Arya.
