The massive shadow charged, his large black sword pointed at my chest.  A split second before he would have impaled me I side stepped to his right and slash his calf. My sword made contact but didn't cut through his seemingly thick black skin. I leapt back and prepared.  He was quick and charged, barely allowing me time dodge. He again tried to stab me I side stepped, left this time. He turned and slashed.  I ducked under the blow and saw as his overly large black sword pass through the space my head had been just a second ago. I stood and stabbed his stomach with both swords and managed to cut him deeply.  He screamed in pain and I ran back out of his reach. The shadow ran straight at me and slashed across.  I leaped back but before I could prepare to attack he lunged a desperate stab at my heart. I dodged left avoiding the massive sword, and leaped up, stabbing both swords into his thick neck. Purple liquid sprayed the ground and soaked my clothes. He fell to his knees and dropped his sword.  I pulled my swords from his body and he fell flat on his stomach. The entire group around me gasped and without delay began running towards me. I leaped as high in the air as I could and used magic to blast me back out of the way of the formation.  I landed on the back side of them and charged, killing six of the shadows, until they turned and rushed.

Eragon POV
An elf ran up to me as I cut down a shadow in the centre of the camp. "Evander said to give you this," he said and handed it to me. I looked inside and saw a baby dragon asleep on a blanket as well as some other important items.

"Where is he?" I asked confused.

"He said he was going to confront the enemy forces.

Arya, who had been by my side the entire time, said "Eragon you need to go help him or he will die."

I handed her the bag and started running to the edge of camp where I heard a shadow screech. There I saw Evander against an army of what looked to be close to eighty troops. They had managed to circle around him and were attacking four or five at a time. He danced a deadly dance killing any who came into his reach.  They fell to the ground one by one. I ran towards the circle and leapt over their heads.  I landed behind Evander in the circle.

"Nice of you to join me," he stated with a small smirk on his face.

"Arya is protecting the bag and its contents for you," I said.

Evander POV
With Eragon at my back I held one position, cutting down any shadows getting close "I am going to cut a path for usWatch my back," I said.

I ran straight forward and rushed the shadows with blades swinging.  All the shadows in front of me fell one by one as the cold steel of my blades met their leathery skin. Once on the other side I yelled, "Keep running! I am going to kill them."

He looked at me questioningly and did as I said. I stopped and muttered the words to my spell under my breath. The entire rest of the shadows froze in ice and remained motionless. I didn't manage to say anything before I fell to the ground.

I awoke in the in the same tent as last time with a different face staring down at me. She was beautiful.  She had long brown hair,  bright blue eyes,  and was dressed in grey clothing.

"Luceane what are you doing here?" I asked still dazed.

"Helping for now," she said smiling.

I sat up; my side aching.  I looked down and saw the white cloth bandage covering my side. "Can't be healed right," I said normally.

She nodded I stood and heard a squeak from behind me. I turned back to the bed and saw the small dragon staring up at me. It leapt down and  stood at my side.

"Take this;  it was left for you," Luceane said nicely.

I took the white cloth shirt from her hand and put it on. I stumbled out of the flap of the tent; the dragon following me.  We wandered through the rows of tents until I came to the head tent where Eragon held the meetings and discussions about the buildings being built.  I entered the dimly lit tent, followed by the dragon and Luceane.

Eragon was standing at the table in the centre of the room speaking with the lead stone workers and Arya. They finished their conversation and the elves left the tent seemingly unamused. Eragon glanced in my direction, " so you going to run again," he mused with an ear to ear grin on his face.
