Eragon the sequel

Du Welden

Just as I was about to leave somebody knocked on the door "Come in," I said  happily. The same man who talked to me last night walked through the door.

"Are you ready to leave," he said cheerfully.

"Ya I was just waiting for you."

"Lets go then,"He said excitedly. We walked outside into the lush green grass and warm sun.  He pointed over to a horse he brought with him "You will be ridding her," he said cheerfully.  I walked over to the horse, greeted it in the ancient language, and climbed on her back.

"Where are we going." I asked nicely.

"To see the queen. She is waiting for us"

After crossing the border we flew for a few days straight to Du Welden where we had to land and walk across the border.

"Do you think that she will be happy to see us?"I asked nervously.

" I don't know little one. I guess it will be what it will be and we are going to have to deal with it," Saphira said soothingly.

"Ya. I guess that if I can't do anything about it I probably shouldn't worry about it," I said sadly.

"Look, we are almost at Ellesmera,"Saphira said excitedly.

I was silent. We flew straight into the city and flew over many elves. "Eragon Shadslayer and Saphira Bright Scales are here," they cheered.

We landed in front of the hall where the queen waited. I leaped off Saphira and entered the hall.

"I will wait here." Saphira whispered.

I didn't say anything back.  The hall on the inside was beautiful. The hall was made out of one of the biggest trees around. On the inside it was lit by flameless lanterns.  There was one elf sitting on the throne..... Arya.

"Hello Queen Arya," I said happily.

She stood up and walked over to me and pulled me into a tight hug. "Wow I wasn't sure if I was going to see you again," Arya said happily.

"Well I am here now aren't I."

She smiled and let go of me.  "Will you stay a few nights or do we need to leave right away?"

"I think we can stay a while. Saphira and I are very tired. We stopped three times to eat and sleep on a five day trip," I said happily.

"I will make sure that you are fed and you Saphira are given a place to sleep. She is too big for the rider's houses. Now go eat and sleep we can talk about everything tomorrow," Arya said smiling.

I left the hall and set out for the riders' housing that I had stayed in before. On my way out a servant said that they would have food delivered to it and I could sleep there. I walked in the door and up the stairs to see the same tower I had been in before. It was a plain room with a bed for a dragon and a different smaller bed for a person. I walked over to my bed, ate the meal sitting on it, and went to sleep.  I woke the next morning to someone knocking on the door.  I got up out of bed and walked over and opened the door to see Arya standing in the doorway.

"Hi. I thought I was supposed to come see you today," I said surprised.

"Well I decided to come here," she said cheerfully.

" Do you have anything in mind for today?" I asked happily.

"Actually no. I was hoping that you had something in mind."

"Besides spending the day easily, no I don't."

"I am sure we can figure something out. Hey! I heard that the escort that I hired entered the city a little while ago. Would you like to meet him?"

"Sure. He must be skilled to be the one escort you picked."

"Actually not only is he the youngest elf, but he is also one of the most skilled with swords,and magic. But he is not a very cheerful elf because his parents died at war when he was very young. They were actually the most skilled elves I have ever met. After their demise by the Mad King himself Evander ran away. He has lived alone in the forest since then. The only reason I know where he lives now is because he fought in the war against the Mad King."

"So if he lives in the forest how did he get his weapons?" I asked, confused.

"That is a question that you will have to ask him. Now shall we go?"

" Well, I think I have done enough standing around for now so I would love to start walking," I stated happily .
