I'd been at work for a few hours and Luke still hadn't called, and to be honest, I was getting a little anxious. I never really went this long without Skye calling for me and even at night she'd be in my bed, sleeping right next to me and snuggled up into my chest.

"You need to stop worrying, girl." Ria said while I was taking her photo. "I'm sure everything is fine, they might be in their little guitar lesson."

I smiled at the thought of Luke teaching Skye how to play the guitar, maybe she could become more into it than I was. I just knew the basics, give me the chords to a song and I would play it, but I couldn't do any of the fancy things rock legends done with theirs.

"If you're that worried, you should just go and call Luke, see how everything is." she said and I hesitated in whether to interrupt them or not.

"What's the time, Ria?" I asked.

"It's ten, you deserve a break, you haven't stopped since you got here. Go and call Mr. Lover Boy, see how everything is and get some food or something, you haven't eaten dinner yet and you can't work on an empty stomach." she said, smiling at me.

Ria was my best friend. We both started as internet friends, with hopeless dreams of being in the same clothing line as eachother. They were hopeless until they turned into a real thing. Ria moved to London, from Bellevue, two years ago and I invited her to live with me. She stayed for around a year, until she managed to buy her own apartment, which still remains a few minutes from my house. Even though she was a year older she was many more years wiser. She knew all my secrets; how I felt about my mum, what I wanted to achieve, my style, my favourite music, my everything and she knew all about the boys I spoke about. When I told her about Luke, her face was like a lightbulb, glowing and lighting me up, giving me energy. I told her how I felt about Luke, and she didn't seem too surprised, because it turns out that she had known him for years- she had met him in America after being Luke's neighbour in Bellevue for a few months and kept in touch when he moved to London.  To say I was embarrassed would be an understatement, humiliation spread over every inch of my body. "Don't worry!" she laughed. " I understand where you're coming from, I mean, I would've liked him too if I was your age, he is a really nice guy!" I stood there and smiled, just the thought of this stupidly amazing boy I had just met had me head over heels for him. At this point in time, I wouldn't say it was 'Love' but it was definitely the start of a crush.

"Okay, I'm going to go call Luke. I won't be long, I just want to check up on how Skye was for him."

"Okay, hun, don't rush. tell Luke I said hi!" she winked at me and patted my back twice as I left her to go call Luke.

I stepped out into the freezing cold air, it all hit me at once, and picked out Luke's contact, I had an internal debate on whether calling him at this time was needed- my instinct won and before I knew it, Luke was panting down the phone.

"Hey, you okay?"

"Real question is, are you okay?" I laughed.

"Well, yeah, I had to run from Skye's room, downstairs because that's where I left my phone and it could've been my mum."

I laughed lightly and a wave of relief washed over me, knowing he was only running and not anything else.  "Well I was just calling to see how everything was."

"Uh, yeah.. well you can't be mad at me..."

"Luke, what have you done?" I panicked but he reassured me that it wasn't that bad.

"So Skye decided that she didn't want just the fruit for desert so I decided to give her some ice cream and while I was getting the guitar out of the cupboard, I was literally gone for two minutes, she had eaten like half the tub of ice cream, and I'm so sorry because I know how people go when they find out that their babysitter let their little one eat so much ice cream or food, but I promise that's the only thing that's happened and I was worried about telling you." he said in one breath.

"Woah, Luke, calm down. You do know how children go when they have too much ice cream right? They end up puking up, but if that happens while I'm not there, you're going to have to be the one to deal with it. Other than that, I'm kind of fine with it. I mean, who hasn't eaten half, or even the whole, tub of ice cream? The girl deserves it." I laughed and my heart was beating at a normal pace, steady and no longer full of worry.

"Oh thank the bloody Lord. Well Skye is asleep now, so I guess I will be heading to bed." he said.

"Oh that's good, okay well I've only got like an hour or so left, then I will be home."

"Oh good. Thank you for trusting me." he laughed lightly.

"No, it's fine. Listen I have to go now, but I will pop my head into the room when I'm home. See you later!"

"Yeah-"

"Oh one thing before you go, Ria says hi!"

"Oh my god, you're with her? Tell her I said hi and we definitely need a catch up!" he said, getting excited.

"I will do, bye Luke." I hung up on him and went back to see Ria. Everyone had looked so worn out and I decided that I'd get thes job over and done with as quick as possible.
