Christmas at home was perfect. Maybe there were more people than I had planned but I still loved it. We had put the tree up as a family of Luke, Skye and I- with the occasional ounces of help from the other boys. But it was honestly perfect. It truly was Christmas in the mixed household, and everyone was high on the Christmas spirit.

"Skye, can you pass Daddy the fairy lights, please?" Skye picked up the big bundle of lights and instead of handing them to Luke, she managed to tangle herself up in them.

"Mummy! Daddy! I'm glowing!" she giggled. Luke, obviously amused at the sight of his daughter, decided to take a photo of her instead of helping her out.

"Let's get you untangled then you can help put them on the tree." I said, but Skye just wanted to wrap me in the lights too and she wrapped them around my waist. "Skye now we're both stuck!" I laughed, and, again, instead of Luke helping he decided to take a round of photos, before finally helping us out.

"I think we should leave the lights to daddy, Skye. Then we can put the baubles on after." Skye nodded and we watched as Luke put the lights around our tree, his lanky body not needing any help with reaching the top.

"This one's for mummy." Skye said as she put my bauble on that I had owned since a young child. it was a glittery cupcake that had always been hung on the tree. "This one for daddy." Liz had sent over a few decorations in the post, which also contained Luke's tree ornament from a child- a sparkly Santa that glittered in the fairy lights. "and this one for Skye." she put on her little snow globe- one Luke and I had gotten her when we got individual ones for the boys. We believed it was important to have something for everyone on the tree.

Ashton had a sparkling drum kit that hung perfectly, Michael had a hanging electric guitar that was blue and also sparkled and Calum had a bass guitar that was black, but covered in glitter. Glitter was an amazing thing throughout my life and I had always had an obsession with it- something my mum found formidable.

"So, if Skye wants to put the fairy on the tree, she has to get on daddy's shoulders." Luke said holding the fairy and Skye clapped in excitement as she ran over to Luke who picked her up and placed her on his shoulders. Then it was my turn to capture photos of the two. I knew that each photo someone took, I'd love it and that's why I didn't stop any of the boys when they came in to take photos of Luke and Skye. I managed to avoid as many photos as I possibly could- I wasn't big on being in photos on my own.

"Tree is finished!" Skye squealed as she rested the fairy on top.

"Yeah!" Luke shouted. "Now we can go have some dinner because daddy is hungry." he started to walk out of the room but turned around- mentally debating. "Fancy going out for dinner, just the three of us?" he asked, to which I smiled and nodded to. "We're going out for dinner, let's go choose what Princess Skye should wear while mummy sorts her out her stuff." Luke was dancing around the hallway with Skye still on his shoulders and she giggled like crazy and smiled like a fool. I loved tose moments with the two of them. Where Luke wasn't tired from working too late, I wasn't worked up over anything and Skye wasn't being a very cheeky mare she could be at five years old.

The whole time while I was getting ready, I didn't hear or see of Luke or Skye once. Even when I was getting told how to dress, Calum came in and told me I had to dress my best because Luke wanted to go somewhere out of town. This I wasn't too sure of to start with because of Skye and her travel, but the moment I stepped into my fishtail red dress, I felt like a million dollars, and didn't want to change. My hair was up and pinned in a load of different places - in courtesy of Lou from coming over after Michael had called her. I done my makeup with a red lipstick and a bit of fanciness here and there, and I felt amazing.
