Won't you go to someone else's head

Haven't you taken enough from me

Luke wasn't expecting Michael to stumble up to his window late Friday evening, with a forceful knock and tears forming in his eyes. It worried the younger teenager beyond belief, he quickly pulled himself off his unmade bed and towards the frost covered window, sliding it open for Michael to enter. "Hey, what are-" the blonde cut himself off and just stared at the coloured haired boy who had now sunken to the floor, his fingers laced deep in his hair. "Are you alright, Mike?"

"No" the older boy whispered, tears threatening to spill. "I'm not ok" their was a bitterness to Michael's tone but the blonde didn't seem to care, he was just concerned and furthermore confused.

"Why?" Luke questioned, sitting in front of the piercing covered teenager. Luke had never thought Michael could look small, innocent and timid, he had to much confidence to be like that.

"Is anyone really ok, Luke, anyone!?" Michael's voice raised with each word, connecting his eyes with the pretty blue ones that stared right back. Mike didn't even notice the tears leaking from his eyes and falling onto the floor boards.

"I-I'm o-ok" Luke stuttered in return, bawling his fists to stop the growing nerves.

"No you're not!" Michael spat, gripping onto Luke's arm peering at the scars that travelled from the tips of his hands to the top of his shoulder blade. "You're a stupid sixteen year old kid, who burns himself and only has one friend, you're so depressed and attempt to hide it" the coloured haired spoke with a prominent tone. "You are almost as bad as me."

The words hit Luke like a truck, anger growing in his veins but his heart sinking in sorrow. Luke stood up, not towering over the older boy. "Why'd you come here? Just to tell me that, like I don't already know? Just-just leave me alone!"

Michael sighed deeply, lifting his own body off the dusty floor. Luke's head hung low, his eyebrows furrowed, lips parted as soft breathes left his lungs. He gripped the younger boys chin, forcing their eyes to connect. "I'm just so angry" Michael whispered, soft droplets still spilling from his sage green eyes.

"Why?" Luke questioned, the sudden anger began to fade as he controlled his breathing pattern.

"Because you are like that, and i'm angry because you shouldnt be. You're a good person Luke, why are good people so sad."

Luke shrugged, a million words that he could have possibly said but instead he just shrugged. The blonde boy wasn't sure why bad things happened to good people.. Maybe there was no such thing as good and bad.

"I'm not a bad person am I Luke? I'll only believe you." It almost scared Luke how frightened Michael was at this moment in time. The delinquent boy was usually so happy and you would never expect such a soft fragile sentence to escape his lips.

"No Michael, you're not a bad person" the blonde whispered back. They stood there for a minute, staring back at one another that's until Luke felt Michaels lips press against his own, the blonde almost instantly kissed back, his eyes fluttering shut. Although the warm, soft kiss was cut short as Michael quickly pulled away. Gazing upon the younger boy he noticed the weak, bewildered expression plastered to Luke's face. "-'M sorry, shouldn't have done that" Michael mumbled, burying his face in the blondes neck. Luke could feel Michaels lips moving and small quiet apologies that illuminated the silence of the dull lighted room.

"Uh-It's alright-"

"No Luke." And if it was like the Michael he'd always known was back, a cocky smile and a confident voice with intimidating stares. "I don't like you like that.. I shouldn't have done that" Michael pulled away, gripping his neighbours shoulders.

The younger boy tried to hide his completely crestfallen expression. "Oh" he breathed before forcing a soft chuckle out, it hurt so damn much.

"I'm sorry, really, I just get like that sometimes.. I'm sorry" the older boy apologised once again.

Luke nodded softly, stepping away from the jet black haired boy. "I know you didn't mean it, I was just the only person around.. I get it."

Michael shook his head from left to right "I just trust you, you wouldn't tell anyone how weak I really am" he laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.

"You're not weak Michael, you're just not always happy."

The blonde jumped when strong arms wrapped around his thin waist, he cautiously hugged his older neighbour. "You really are my best friend, Lucas."

It hurt so much.
