You hummed to yourself as you buzzed around the kitchen, grabbing ingredients from every cabinet and utensils from every drawer. Your recipe book sat on the counter, opened and ready to be read.
That's right, you were baking a cake for Wally for Valentine's day. You were extremely excited as this was your first Valentine's day together, and you couldn't wait to see his reaction after showing him the cake.
You hope it'd taste good - it was your first time baking by yourself without help from your mother. You were really tempted to call her and ask her to come over to help, but you wanted to do this all by yourself.
"Alright . . . Here goes . . ."

happy valentine's day Wally! you wrote out with blue icing. The cake looked pretty good, you had to admit. If only it would taste as good as it looked. You set the icing down and washed your hands. You left the cake on the table as you went to take a shower.
After drying off, you walked back into the living room only to hear the doorbell going off.
"Hm? Who could it be?" you wondered as you grabbed the wooden doorknob and turned it--
Only to be attacked by a kiss from Wally. He wrapped his arms around your waist to pull you tighter around him.
"Happy Valentine's day," he whispered into your ear as he broke off the kiss.
"Happy Valentine's," you said as you kissed him on the cheek.
He unwrapped his arms, stepped back, and placed a bouquet of flowers under your nose. Roses, lilies, daisies, carnations - it was a huge bouquet to say the least.
"Thank you so much," you cried as you hugged the flowers to yourself.
You stepped aside to let him in and closed to door behind you. "So what--"
"Woah! Is that a"--his eyes widened--"cake?!"
You nodded, walking to stand beside the table. "I hope you like it?" you said, unsure.
"Babe, you are the best." He captured your lips in his again, this time the kiss filled with more passion.
You set the flowers in a vase before getting out a knife and a plate to cut the cake. "Try it." You passed the plate to Wally, and you watched in anticipation as he swallowed a spoonful.
"Is it. . .okay?"
"Okay? It's amazing, babe! You should try it!"
"I don't--" You didn't get to finish your sentence as he stuffed a spoonful of cake into your mouth. You swallowed. ". . .It's quite good. . ."
Wally placed a kiss on your cheek, grinning. "I love you."
