You didn't know how you were going to tell him – Wally, your best friend – that you were moving to Brisbane. You groaned, lying on your bed. You didn't want to leave, your whole life up until this point was located here in Keystone City. Everyone and everything you knew was because of this place. You weren't ready to move across the Earth to live in a foreign city just because your parents sealed a business deal.

"Damn it," you sighed, kicking off your blanket. It was one in the morning, but you couldn't sleep. All you could think of was moving. You were moving in June – and it was already May. One month. One month was all you had left. "I need to tell Wally." You grabbed your phone and switched it on. He was definitely awake, completing his homework that he had procrastinated the whole week.

You opened your text and sent a message: wally.

He replied, seconds later, with a what?

You typed out i'm moving and was about to hit send before you backspaced, and typed out i need to tell you something instead.

okay? was his reply. you want me to go over?

please you sent. Wally lived a few houses away, and you guys had a habit of sneaking into each other's houses every now and then. In minutes, you heard a tapping at your window. You got off your bed and opened the window, letting Wally climb in softly and you shut the window behind him.

You sat on your bed and he sat beside you. You turned your fairy lights on, and the stars and moons emitted a soft glow. Wally looked at you. "What's up?"

You sighed, your hands on your lap. You stared at them, contemplating how to phrase this.

"Come on, [y/n], don't scare me," he said. "What, are you pregnant or something?" He chuckled.

"Wally!" The only person I want impregnating me is you. You blushed fiercely. Where did that come from?! "N-No, I'm not pregnant," you stuttered, face still flushed. You turned away, and lowered your voice. "I'm – I'm moving."

Silence. It was completely silent for minutes.

"To where?" Wally's voice was void of emotion, which scared you a bit.

"Brisbane," you choked out.

"When?" he asked, desperation creeping into his tone now.

"Next month," you whispered, sobbing.

"[y/n]." You felt his arms snake around your waist and he pulled you into him. You pushed your face against his chest, and wrapped your arms around him.

"I don't want to leave you, Walls," you said, voice muffled by his shirt. "I want you by my side, always."

"And you'll always have me, [y/n], I promise. Even if you're halfway across the Earth."

The morning after that, Wally went home to grab his car keys, and then he was in your driveway, telling you to get in. You left a text for your parents, and grabbed your belongings and went into his car.

"I'm going to make this one month the best of your entire life, [y/n]," Wally said, quite jokingly.

You beamed at him. "I don't doubt it."

He was right (for once). It was the best month of your entire life. He drove you to so many places – he even brought you to Disneyland and Universal because you'd never been. He brought you to multiple beaches and deserts, and you guys had amazing times at the waterparks he drove to. He brought you bungee jumping, and brought you to circuses and performances. Basically, it was a month filled with laughter, joy and nothing else. It was pure bliss, and every minute spent with him only drew you closer and closer to your amazing best friend. The lengths he went to make everything perfect – it was more than you deserved. He was more than you deserved.

You never wanted the thirty days of bliss to end, but all good things come to an end.

"Wally..." you fought back tears. "I – I can't thank you enough for everything that you've done for me. This past month was amazing, and it's all because of you. You've been by my side since first grade, and I really won't remember all the shit we got into and how we barely got out of them alive." You laughed, and tears were spilling out now. "I – I'm just so thankful for you, you know that? You've really changed my life and I can't imagine waking up and going to school and you not being there – or not having study sessions any more – or not sneaking into each other's rooms at midnight – " you choked, the tears falling harder now. "I don't know how I'm going to survive." You flung your arms around Wally and buried your face into his chest, sobbing.

"[y/n]..." his voice cracked, and you realised he was crying, too. He hugged you tighter, and no words were really needed to understand him.

You pulled back a little so you look into his green orbs. Really look at them, as this could be the last time you ever saw them. It was a beautiful shade of green, and you wanted to get lost in them forever. You burst into tears again. You wanted to stay. Stay here, in his arms, in Keystone, and never leave. But you couldn't.

"Last call for Flight 340 to Brisbane."

"I have to go, Wally," you whispered, voice breaking.

"[y/n], no. You can stay – you can stay, we can be fine together! Please, don't...leave me," his voice trembled, and you could see the desperation in his eyes.

You shook your head. "I want to Walls, but I can't!"

The announcement blared again, and you started to untangle yourself from his arms. You wiped your eyes and turned to leave.

"[y/n]!"

You reached up to stroke his cheek. "Goodbye, Wally." You reached up to kiss his cheek, before turning and walking through the doors that separated you two. You wanted to look back, look at him just one more time, but you knew that if you did, you would not have the will to get on that plane anymore. Your parents had flown there a week before to settle down. You didn't mind, because you got one more week with Wally. Wally. You settled in your plane seat. The plane was pretty much empty, and no one was sitting around you. It was so empty and so cold – you felt so alone. "I need you, Wally," you mumbled, squeezing your eyes shut. You turned on your phone and looked at your lock screen. It was a photograph of you two at Universal, in front of Hogwarts, both of you holding butterbeer and grinning like the dorks you were. His arm was around you, and you were leaning onto him. You had said goodbye barely thirty minutes earlier, but your heart already ached for him. You laughed, a low, non-humorous laugh. It was so stupid, that you only realised your love for him yesterday. You had been sitting in your room, fiddling with your miscellaneous items, when it had hit you. You were so stupid. If you had realised sooner, maybe you could have at least been going to Australia as Wally's girlfriend. But, no, you only found out the night before your flight. Not only that, you didn't have the guts to tell him. I love you, Wally West, and I know you love me too. The flight attendant came and instructed you to buckle your seatbelt. You followed her instructions, and you leaned back as the plane reversed, readying itself for take-off. You stared at the black night sky, your eyelids threatening to close – until your phone lit up.

i love you.

Wally. Your eyes brimmed with fresh tears when you read the message. You unlocked your phone, racing against time as the plane's engine turned on. You typed out your reply, as the plane started moving forward. The plane lifted off the ground right after you hit send.
