Riding in the bed of her dad's pick up on that perfect Saturday on the way back to their campsite she saw a boy looking at her in her tank top and sunglasses and smiling. She waved as they went by and he just blushed.

"Mom can you please tell Dad to hurry? We wanna be right behind the drunk parties on the river so we can laugh at them, don't we?" She hollered from outside their tent.
"She's right, Mike," her mom whispered in the tent.
"I know, Leah. We'll be right out!" Her dad yelled back at her knowing she was right.
"I'm gonna go down to the bathrooms I'll be right back," She said to her older sister, Morgan, as she walked around the cars.
When she walked to the bathrooms she couldn't help but think about that boy just smiling like a goofball as they drove by. When she walked out of the bathroom on her way back to their campsite she wasn't even looking where she was going. She didn't need to, she'd walked along this path a million times before. This time there was an obstacle she didn't expect.
"Ouch." She said as she ran smack dab into a person. "Are you okay? I didn't mean to run into you." She still had her glasses on so she couldn't see who it was under the shade of the tree towering above them.
"I'm fine, are you good? I'm sorry that was my fault. I wasn't watching where I was going. Here let me help you," a boy responded talking quickly then reaching to help her up.
"I'm fine I just have a little scrape on my leg. It was my fault I have my glasses on so I can't see." She took off her glasses and immediately noticed it was the boy from earlier. "Oh. Hi. We sorta but not really met earlier. I'm Shelbi."
"I'm Ryan. Yeah... that was kinda embarrassing. I was kinda shocked that you noticed me to be honest."
"Why? You are cute and you were kind of staring at me. It was hard not to notice you."
"I'm sorry I'm really awkward in these situations. I don't get to talk to pretty girls often. They usually pretend I don't exist."
"I don't pretend anyone doesn't exist unless it's one of my three brothers and he's being a jerk. Thanks for calling me pretty. Many people don't really say sweet stuff like that to me often."
"Why? It's true. You're prettier than most of the girls who think they are pretty."
"How?" She asked daringly as her heart skipped a beat.
"Well they need makeup to be pretty. You don't. You are pretty while you are camping and not many people can pull that off!"
"Well, Ryan, thank you for that. Stay here for a second. I'll be right back." She ran to her dad's truck to get a marker. He always had at least one in there. When she got back she was breathless from the sprinting and thinking of this flirtatious boy she was talking to.
"Let's exchange numbers. Here's mine." As she put the numbers on the back of his hand she was shaking and she could hear her dad's pick up coming down the gravel road looking for her. Her sister yelled at her to hurry from the bed of the truck.
"Okay I have to go we are floatin the river in like 10 minutes. Here," She handed him the marker and he started writing on her hand.
As he wrote he said, "Me and my family are floatin today too. I hope we ride the bus and get on the river at the same time."
"Me too! Sorry I have to go. They'll worry if I dont. See ya, Ryan!"
"Bye, Shelbi," He whispered as she put her sunglasses back on and ran to get in the bed of the pick up with her sisters.

"Who was that?" Morgan asked raising her eyebrows as they pulled up to the front of the main office.
"Why were you talking to that boy?" Her little sister, Braelyn, asked her at the same time.
"It was just a boy I ran into," She replied rubbing at her hand.
"Oh yeah?" Morgan said.
"Seriously! I literally ran into him because I couldn't see because of my sunglasses! We just started talking. I don't even know his last name. All I know is his name is Ryan!" She pleaded her case before their parents got back.
"Babe! I thought you were gonna meet us at the camp?" Morgan said as her boyfriend of nearly 2 years, Landon, came up to the truck.
"Lando!" Braelyn and Shelbi said at the same time as they went to give him a hug and get out of the truck.
"Hey, guys. I was gonna meet yall back there but I was stuck in traffic up by the store," Landon answered everyone as he hugged Morgan.
