"Shelbi? Open up please! You haven't answered a question in thee days. The professor is worried about you! We have like two weeks left of the semester and you are his favorite and he asked me to come check on you!" Alex yelled through her hotel room door.
"I'm fine. I've been doing the work and everything. Tell him I'll start answering all the questions again soon."
"Fine. I still love you. I've always loved you and I'll never stop. Just know that I care. Even if I didn't act like it that day. I'm still sorry."
"I know."

"The professor wants us to work in pairs. He sent an email. I don't know if you got it but in the group chat everyone has someone picked. I don't think there are people left. We have to work together." Ryan had climbed the fire escape to the 7th floor where Shelbi's window was knowing she wouldn't let him in the door.
"No. I'll work alone. I'm sure someone else will work with you."
"Please? It'll give us a chance to talk and I have no idea what I'm doing. I know you know. Please help me."
"Alright. Only this one thing though."

"So you understand now?"
"I think so. You know what I miss most about us?"
"What?"
"That we could just talk. Sit down some where get comfy and talk for hours and hours on end. You are the highlight of my life. Not were but are."
"Ryan. We are done. I miss you but you hurt me. Alot. You became something and pushed me away and I don't want to do any of it again. When we were happy we were happy but when we were anything less I was miserable. I didn't realize it then but I do now. You were a great chapter of my life but that chapter is over. I'm so sorry."
"I know you think that but there are always revisions to be made. As a published author you should know that."
"I do but I don't think this is one of them."
"Think?"
"That's what I said."
"Okay. Well you need to get an apartment."
"This is cheaper."
"It's about the same."
"Then I'm fine. I can take care of myself. It's been a while bit I can still do it. Alright?"
"Okay. I have to head out but I'll be back."
"I can't promise I'll let you in next time."
"That's okay. I'll find a way."
"Also use the door. Stay off my fire escape."
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Bye, I still love you."
"Good bye."

"Really? That's awesome! I'm so happy for you so when I get home I will help get things planned out for you. I'll be fine. We only have a couple months left of the year. It's been a while. Yeah. Okay tell him I said hey. Bye."
"Who was that?" Shelbi's new friend from class, Melissa, asked looking up from her book.
"Oh my very good friend, she's basically my sister, is getting married. I knew she was going to get proposed to but I didn't know when. I'm gonna be planning and in it and all that will start when I leave here."
"Awe!"
"Yeah the only problem is two of my serious exes will most likely be there and they both claim to still love me."
"Ouch. What are you gonna do? Are you in love with them?"
"No. I was engaged to one and I thought I loved him. I was so happy then the other one who I was with first came here and decided to fuck with my head and made me doubt everything. He wants me back so badly and I want him back too but I think it's probably just because I hate being alone. Being alone scares me. Oh my gosh. You're only the third person I've told that to. I haven't even known yiu that long. I must really be going insane."
"That's totally okay. We can be insane together. Hey maybe you should take a break from guys and date me for a while? As just a little fling? See if you like it or not. You know, the whole bisexual thing?"
"You're gorgeous. I know I'd like it, cause I've already tried it, but even though it scares me I think alone is my best bet right now. Maybe the last few months of the semester?"
"Okay. C'mon we have to get that paper done then catch a movie neither of us understands cause we are both from the southern US not southern Germany."
"Yes we do. I'm ready when you finish your coffee."
"Oh I've been done I just kept forgetting and you were on the phone and stuff."
"Well okay then," she said laughing as they stood and made their way for the door.

"Hey. I need to talk to you."
"O-okay. Sure. What about?"
"You have been like my best friend for so long and it sucks not having you around. I'd love to be able to just hang out again and I know it's kinda weird but I miss you. Not romantically but as my life long friend. Can we be friends or would that be too hard? I want you to really think about this. I don't think we'll ever be romantic again and I want to know if you can do that. I'd you can awesome. I just want you to forgive me and move on. I know you haven't yet and it makes me sad. I still love you just not the way I thought I did."
"I will try to have a decision within 48 hours."
"Take as long as you need. Also I wanted to tell you that I'm with Melissa. The girl from my English class. She said she didn't think it would last but she figured it might be fun so... yeah."
"How am I not surprised? She's so your type!" Alex replied laughing.
"I missed your laugh. It's been so long since I heard it. It always makes me smile and feel kind of proud. Every time. I'll see you in a few days, Alex."
