Jack looks me up and down as I pull a shirt on, "what?" I ask, feeling slightly self conscious.
"Nothing" he grins, his eyes finally meeting mine. I shrug it off and stand up, "nooo. Don't get up!" Jack reaches out and pulls me back onto the bed so I'm laying over his chest.
"We have to get up eventually." I point out and he shrugs, pulling me up a bit so he can kiss me. I move so I'm next to him, but still pretty close.
He smiles at me, brushing his hand over my cheek and leaving it there, moving his thumb slightly so he's caressing my cheek. I close my eyes a couple of seconds before his lips hit mine.
"What time will Hazel get here?" I ask as we pull away.
"Sometime around 1." Jack huffs, sitting up and grabbing his shirt from the floor.
"Did I do something?" I ask, confused by his sudden coldness.
"No." He tells me before quickly putting on his pajama bottoms and walking out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

"Hey! How are you?" Hazel greets, walking into the living room.
"I've been better" I answer and she nods understandingly.
"I was thinking we could go get our nails done or something" Hazel tells me, "if you're up to it." She quickly adds.
"Sure, I need to get out anyway." I smile, making her grin.

Hazel and I sit in a small restaurant, waiting for our food to arrive. "So, you can't tell anyone about this yet, but-"
"You're pregnant?" Hazel interrupts, making me face palm.
"No. I found a small apartment and I was thinking of making an offer." I confess.
"That's great!" She cheers. "Will Jack move out with you?"
"I think I'd rather live on my own for now. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Jack, but I think I'm going to end up strangling him if we continue spending all our time together." I explain, feeling slightly guilty.
"That's fair enough though, you haven't been dating for that long, it's understandable if you need a break from him." She smiles comfortingly, making me feel better.
***
"So you're moving out?" Jack huffs from the couch as I put my bag down.
"What? How did you-"
"You left your laptop open."
"Oh..." I sigh, walking closer and sitting on the other end of the couch. "I was going to tell to you about it but I wasn't sure how."
"Why do you need to move out?" He asks.
"I want to have my own apartment, not that I don't love living with you guys but I want my own house." I pause, mentally debating if I'm going to say anything else, "I also need time alone, I need space." Could've phrased that better, Lila.
"What's that supposed to mean!?" Jack exclaims, his voice rising.
"I didn't mean it like that, you know I didn't." I try to stay calm, knowing if I don't it'll give him more of a reason to be angry.
"How did you mean it then?"
"...I mean, it's impossible to get five seconds alone because you need me to by your side nearly all the time!" I finally snap.
"Maybe if you would actually tell me what you're thinking instead of keeping it from me, it wouldn't be a problem!" He retorts.
"I try to! But if I do you sulk like an overgrown child!" Jack goes quiet, instantly making me regret my outburst. "I... I'm going out." I declare, turning and walking away before he can make another comment.
What do you guys think of the story so far? Should I change anything or is it good the way it is?
Also not really related to the story, but late last year I discovered that I'm genderfluid, so instead of going by Mae/Maeve I now go by Oliver/Oli.
Thanks for reading!
