Chapter 5

I lay face first on my quilt, this has been the loneliest month of my life, and for once I'm not happy to be alone. I miss Hazel trying to persuade me to let her do my makeup, I miss Tom and how weird he is, and most of all... I miss Jack, his smile, his laugh, his geekiness, how naturally happy he is... Everything.
I shake my head sitting up, "no. It's better for you this way Lila" I try to convince myself, grabbing my laptop I sit on my bed with my legs crossed "I just need to lose myself in my writing." I say to myself once again, opening notepad to start a new story.

I stare at the message scrawled across the screen of my phone, 'YouTube gathering, next week, ALL week! Youtubers such as: JackAndDean, Tomska, Chewing Sand, Sprinkle of Glitter, Danisnotonfire, AmazingPhil, TimH, The Gaming Lemon, Paint and others will make an appearance! I had bought a ticket to the gathering, it's to big of an opportunity to miss, hopefully I don't run into anyone...

I adjust my bag strap on my shoulder, I'm finally at a YouTube gathering! Of course I'm not as excited as I thought I would be when I first became obsessed with YouTube...
I pass a signing booth that Toms setting up, I keep my head down and successfully walk past Toms booth, but as I'm distracted by my small victory I don't see the blond Irish woman standing in front of me. "Lila!" She screams giving me a hug "Hazel!" I say in more shock then excitement "what are you doing here?!" She asks pulling away "I wouldn't be a proper fangirl if I missed this" I say finally smiling "wait till the others find out your here!" She does a little jump in excitement and my eyes widen "uh, can we just keep this between us?" I ask and she looks at me confused, "Jack and I...almost kissed" I mumble and her eyes widen "awwwww!...but what about Amber?" She asks "that's why I said almost, I didn't want to ruin his relationship with her, and I want me being here kept between us, because Jack would find out and it would be mega awkward" I explain and she nods understanding a little "...fine-" she nods and I sigh in relief, "-only if you give me your number" she finishes and I sigh knowing that she won't give up till I say okay.

I kept an eye out for Amber, I needed to know that she isn't upset at me.
I spot her dark brown hair from across the room, she's extremely hard to miss, she's wearing a bright pink flowing dress with stockings and cute black heels, she also has a pale pink handbag that sits in the middle of her arm.
I look down at my outfit, a beige-ish grey jumper, leggings, whatever flats were left on my floor, and my glasses. (outfits up 🔝)
"Erm, hi Amber!" I say sounding very cheerful "oh hi!" She says back "how have you been?" I ask and her smile flatters a little "I've been okay" she says emphasising I've, "what's wrong" I ask "ever since a few months back, Jacks been quite distant in our relationship and.... I don't know, but it's like the spark between us has gone out..." She explains, "are you gonna do anything about it?" I ask and she nods "that's why I'm all glammed up!" She says, her smile returning "I'm gonna surprise him here!" She announces before spotting someone YouTube famous and going off to talk to them.
I wonder around feeling... hollow, depressed almost, I know it's about Jack; I feel sad because I know that Amber will woe him back, and I feel incredibly upset at the fact the reason that Jack and I almost kissed was because he was going through a rough pit in his relationship.
I'm always the second choice.
