Hay people!
I'm trying to get back on schedule.
I've been so lazy about writing my books and those of
you who probably read this book probably read
"The Magic Side" ,
another one of my works
And probably know I have that
book on hold.
I'm going to try to update every week.
So wish me luck with my new schedule.
Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 4
~~~~~~~I was falling...no I'm floating...where am I? I'm not sure...there is light all around me...wait what is that. A grayish-black essence, it's like a door way. I wonder where it leads. I cautiously examine it, when I spot a girl with, milky white, blood stained wings and skin. She seems to be crying, I look closer and notice a bloody body in her arms. Black wings with green tips were connected to the body as
well. The girls, long midnight black hair, covered their faces. I reached out toward them entering the essence...before everything disappeared and I started falling.I landed on the floor beside my bed with a loud thump. I groaned, when I noticed the pain in my back. As I picked myself up, I noticed a folded up paper on my night stand. I unfolded it, and all my memories from yesterday came flooding in. I stared at the picture of the boy with black wings. I look over my shoulder at the black pair of wings, which have grown to be a bit bigger than my torso.
What am I going to do, if anyone saw me like this. Who knows, I might get shipped off to some research center, or Area 51. I'm not taking the chances. I'm going to lock myself in my room until I figure out a solution. Yes, sounds perfect. I will start home school. Hopefully I will figure something out before my parents kick me out. I let out a heavy sigh and sit on my bed.
"Put me down you demon! "I hear a familiar voice coming from outside my window.
"Oh, shut your trap!" This time I hear a more feminine voice. I get off my bed and open my curtains to find Kimberly and Chase outside my window. Poor Chase dangling by his foot, and Kimberly looking ready to drop him.
"How did you sleep," she asked, with a sinister smile, as she flys into my room. Chase dangles behind hitting his head on my windowsill.
"Terrible!" I scoff. She drops Chase's foot, her smile plastered to her face. She spins me around, examining my wings.
"Hmm...They shouldn't be...hmm...maybe I can...no," she says, staring down every aspect of my wings, lifting and tugging on each one comparing them to hers. Chase stares in confusion.
"Ok!" She shouts , making Chase and I jump."Come with me," She says yanking Chase's and my arm. She leads us to a hillside beyond the city limits. Luckily it wasn't far from my house.
"What are we doing here?" Chase asks, looking at his surroundings. Kimberly just gives a sly smirk as a reply. She then faces me.
"So you guys are telling me you don't love the view?" She says, her smile painted on. I walk over to the edge and notice a small lake beneath us. There is also forest surrounding the area closing it off from humanity. Wait what...cliff, water, closure, she has to be up to something. Chase stood next to me staring down at the deep clear lake beneath us. I feel hands my shoulders as my feet separate from the cliffs edge. I look up and see Kimberly with her wings out and her grey eye now a mischievous shade of purple.I look down and notice Chase's scared expression.
"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?" Chase yells staring up at us.
"I'm thinking...he better learn to fly" she says flashing her usual devious smirk. Before her fingers release their grip on me.
"WAIT NO!" I yell as I fall. I have no idea how to work these things, I got them yesterday.
"Open your wings!" I hear Kimberly shout. I attempt to open them, and slowly but surely they were starting to open.
"WATCH OUT!" I hear Chase's worried shout. I look Down and hit the cold water with a splash. I pop my head out swimming back to shore where Kimberly and Chase were waiting.
"Are you ok?" Chase says, worry spread across his face. I give a comforting smile, his expression softens.
"You did good...you just need to open your wings a bit earlier." Kimberly says, with a sincere voice.
"Ok then let's try this again." I say, with determination and excitement. Chase's face goes pale as Kimberly lifts me up.
"Don't forget to open your wings." She says dropping me.
Here we go. I near the water and I open my wings. Sadly I start drifting towards land and smack straight into a tree, landing in a bush.
"Jackson!" Chase yells running over to where I am. He examines me, asking, "Are you ok, no broken anything, no cuts or bruises?"
"Oh gosh, this might be a lot harder than I thought. Ok let me give you a demonstration." Kimberly says with a slight chuckle. She flys to the cliff top jumping down. As she nears the water she opens her wings, tilting her body toward us she slightly turns. As she reaches land she tilts her wings upward, reducing her speed, nearly to a stop as she places her feet on the ground. The image of the bloody girl, with long black hair and white wings, replaced Kimberly for a split second, before her voice cut in and Kimberly was once again standing in front of me.
"Ok now it's your turn," she says, smiling. I nod, still confused, as she lifts me.
"Just repeat what I did, and hope you don't crash." She says, releasing me from her grip. I fall, carefully repeating what she did, stumbling slightly when I land.
"That was so cool!" Chase says, with a cheesy smile plastered on his face, as he gives me a high five.
"I guess," I say, rubbing the back of my neck. Kimberly lands by us with a chuckle.
"Phft...that was nothing compared to what he used to do--I mean...uh" she says, her eye flashing the forget me not blue. Chase and I give her questioning glares
"Hmph...whatever, we'll continue tomorrow. Let's meet here." She says, turning and quickly walking away.
I notice something fall from her jacket pocket and go to pick it up. I pick up a black feather with green tips, there was a note attached to it. I carefully remove the paper, it's edges burned and words slightly smeared. I attempted to read through the note.
'Kimberly,
I want you to know, I am sorry for what I have to do. I will return to you one day, in hopes you will accept my apology. I want your new powers to flourish, even if I won't be there to help guide you. Please forgive me...Kimberly I may not get to tell you this myself, but...I love you...and I'm sorry.
With love,
~(the name was burned off)'My face gets hot, I could tell I was blushing. I read it multiple times, before rolling it back up and running off to find Kimberly and Chase. It looked like a letter I wasn't supposed to read.I don't have to run for long before spotting them ahead.
"Kimberly!" I yell, catching their attention.
"You dropped this," I say holding up the feather and note. Her eyes go wide, the grey one turning a sad cloudy shade of blue.
" I don't care if you read it or not, but never touch this again!" She yells tears streaming from her grey eye. She snatches the items from me and turns and runs off.
Something about that feather and that note seemed familiar...what was it.
