PROLOGUE
Hephaestus walked into the gods council meeting holding the sleeping child. He had poured all his efforts into this girl. He was a tad surprised at how many gods had showed up. Olympus was filled with nearly every god. Egyptian, Greek, and Roman had arrived. Most of them glared at each other.
"Bring the child!" Jupiter/Zeus commanded. Dutifully, Hephaestus brought her. He took the girl and held her high up. "She is our last hope! She will save us from slaughter. She will combine Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter, and the House of Life. She will do what even Percy Jackson," Zeus grimaced at the name, "cannot. She will save them. Athena, Artemis, Hestia, and Aphrodite. What is her name?"
"Thellanaklea." Athena answered. Zeus nodded.
"Who shall be willing to give Thellanaklea a gift?" Zeus boomed.
Hera stepped forward and touched the child's head. "I give you the gift of commitment. You shall always keep your promises."
"I give you wisdom." Athena announced.
"I give you the gift of beauty." Aphrodite murmured.
"I give you the gift of hunting." Artemis said.
Many others gave her gifts. Controlling winds, magic, fire, building, fighting, tactics, plants, water. then Hades stepped forward.
"I give you, Thellanaklea, the gift of rebirth. You may die three times. Each time you are reborn you shall look different and have a different personality. If you die a forth time and have not completed your task you will not be reborn. If you do not get reborn at all and finish your quest you will become immortal."
Yelling broke out. Objections were made, and Hades glared.
"If she dies a forth time without completing her quest, she will become my slave. Forever!" Hades stormed out of Olympus with Persephone running behind him.
Fights had broken out. Hestia, in her twelve year old form, took Thellanaklea and fled. She was glowing with power. Hestia cradled her in her arms.
"My beautiful Thella. We didn't want this to happen. But you will be fine here. I hope." She wrote a quick letter, wrapped Thella in a red blanket and knocked on the large mansion. She left poor Thella on the porch with the letter and disappeared.
Sadie opened the door to the Twenty-first Nome. Carter and Walt were behind her. Sadie gasped.
"What in the world?" Carter demanded. Sadie picked up the girl.
Walt picked up the letter.
Her name is Thella. The gods have been fighting over her. Teach her magic. Then let her leave. Please teach her the Latin, Greek, and Egyptian languages, myths, and history. She is important. I am sorry to dump this on you. Tell Bast not to get upset about the council and the baby is who Bast thinks she is. Do NOT tell anyone else of the child's backstory. She will grow at twice the normal rate.
