I collapsed on the bed, completely exhausted. Well, it was really a bed, more like a small mattress, but to me it was heaven. I had learned a few more tricks, but generally I just got to narrowly avoid Daren's swift attacks. According to Lucas, I was doing well for a beginner. Honestly, I didn't believe him.

I quickly passed out. After my extensive practice session, I had taken a long bath but stopped when I began to fall asleep. It would be kinda embaressing if I drowned.

Someone nudged my shoulder. "It's time for evening muster." a female voice told me. I groaned in response.

I rolled onto my back and stumbled to my feet. I restrapped Ra to my belt and dashed after the girl, assuming she would know where to go.

"Where are we going?" I asked sleepily when I had caught up with her.

"The practice meadow. It's the only place big enough here for us to have any sort of gathering." she answered, blond curls bouncing as she jogged.

We met up with around two hundred Romans lined up in the practice meadow. The short blond girl got in line, but I wasn't sure where to go. I shrugged and sauntered up to Reyna.

Interrupting her argument with Octavian, I tapped her shoulder. "Where do I go?" Octavian, being the jerk that he was, was about to answer, when Reyna shot him a glare.

"Just stand by me." She instructed. I nodded. Reyna mounted her pegasus and steered him away. She stopped in front of the Romans, waiting for them to finish roll call.

I stood a little to the side, not wanting to get to close to her dogs.

"Colors!" Octavian shouted.

Several people stepped forward, probably the standard-bearers. Wearing lion skin capes, the held the emblem for each cohort. One held a long pole with an eagle.

"Romans!" Reyna yelled. "Last night we found a half-blood, Thella..." Reyna looked down at me questioningly.

"Kane." I supplied.

"Thella Kane, daughter of Pluto."

Some demigods craned their heads to see me.

"Wazzup, Romans?" I called.

Reyna claimed their attention again. "She has come seeking to join the legion. What do the auguries say?"

Octavian smirked at me, obviously wanting to get back at me for embarrassing him. "I have searched the entrails!" He announced proudly, as if he killed a lion, rather then a beanie baby. "They are not favorable. They warn us of a spy!"

"Octavian?"

He looked at me, a tad surprised. "What?"

"Did they actually say that I was the spy?" I asked lazily.

He blinked. "Er, no."

"So you are just assuming that they meant that I was because they aren't favorable."

"Uh..."

Reyna interrupted. "Because the auguries are unclear, we will hold a contest."

I gawked at her, along with two hundred Romans. "Pardon?"

"Thella Kane will be tested in all areas: archery, swordsmanship, knives, tactics, and hand-to-hand combat. If she passes in at least four, she will be allowed to join the legion."

"Reyna-" Octavian objected.

Reyna continued as if he hadn't spoken. "If she does not..." she looked down at me again, this time pityingly. "She will die."

Sorry it's so short! This is more a filler chapter then anything else. Thanks for all the support!!! Ya'll rock. Also, on my other profile I have another Percy Jackson fanfic, called Daughter of Love. Here is the link: http://www.wattpad.com/story/9791796-daughter-of-love-book-one I recently posted it's sequel, Daughter of Egypt. Please that one as well. It doesn't involve the actual books as much as this one, but I think it's good nonetheless.
