Deciding that the ghost dude wasn't expecting an answer (more like he wanted me to now down and beg for forgiveness because I didn't recognize him) put my sword on the ground, I sat down next to it, and inspected my ankle. It was a minor sprain.

Hoping no one was around I looked around. Vitellius was near me but facing away. Discretely I chanted a healing spell Jaz taught me. It wouldn't fix broken bones but it would keep my ankle from throbbing later.

That done, I stood and inspected camp. There were several tents, the smaller ones I assumed were for sleeping in, the fancy one that I met Reyna in I guessed was the war tent, and there were two other very large tents. One was the mess hall, I predicted but I wasn't sure what the other one was for.

A beefy guy with curly black hair was jogging over to me. At first I thought I was tipping over when I looked at his eyes, but as I looked closer I realized that it was just that his eyes weren't in a straight line. He had a stain on his mouth as if all he did was drink grape juice. Which might have been the correct assumption since he was holding a goblet filled with purple liquid.

"Hi I'm--" he began but had to stop so he could belch.

I kept a strait face. "Your name is bleuuughhh?" I asked, imitating the sound he made. "That's a strange name."

He frowned. "No. My name is Dakota. Reyna told me to get you in armor and practicing."

"But I'm not a member of the legion yet." I replied innocently.

Dakota shrugged. "That's what was told. Do you have a weapon?"

"Yeah." I picked up my sword from where I dropped it.

Dakota whistled appreciatively. "Sweet. What's it made out of?"

"Lots of things." I wasn't sure if I could trust him yet.

He didn't look happy, but he dropped it. "Well, let's get you some armor."

We traveled to one of the large tents. Weapons and armor were left and right.

"You have a sword... Do you have a scabbard?" I shook my head. Dakota frowned. "We will need to get you one then. Armor?"

"I don't. But I don't think I need any."

Dakota raised his eyebrows. "I should at least put you in leather armor. HEATHER!" A girl around thirty with curly blond hair and brown eyes sauntered over to us.

"Yes?"

"Can you find her some leather armor? After that send her to the practice meadow." Dakota instructed, taking another drink from the goblet. "Also find her a scabbard."

Heather nodded and led me farther into the tent.
