Kristyn and Yoongi had been dating for three long years. They were the most talked about couple on campus. First was for Yoongi's unparalleled infamy for being the bad boy. And second was the five year age gap between the two. They hadn't cared as much as others did for that sort of thing though.
Many times before rude comments about those sort of things were made or jealous girls would try to pick on Kristyn. The treatments never lasted long because if you'd ever seen Min Yoongi's dark side you'd be running for the hills.
Lately things between the two weren't the same. At least not for Yoongi. He tried to mend things into the way they once were. Nothing worked. He had to tell her. He didn't want her to cry or be hurt by him. But he was never one to let things drag on.
Kristyn had just finished watering her mother's flowers when Yoongi walked up to the gate. He considered opening it and walking into the yard but figured that maybe he should stay where he was.
"Hey," he said to get her attention.
"Oh Oppa! How long have you been there? Come in." She waved him over but he remained in his spot.
"Actually... I've got to leave soon. But there's something that I have to tell you."
"What is it?" She walked closer until she was directly in front of him.
"This isn't working. And I think we should end it."
"W-what isn't working?" The worry in her voice hurt but he wouldn't let that stop him.
"Us.." He said a little choked. "I think it's best if we just end it. Before..." He wanted to say before anyone got hurt but by the tears in her eyes he knew it was already too late.
"People try to f-fix things before hey just break up... Yoongi."
"I've tried. Things are just different now." He lifted a plastic bag over the fence and dropped it in her hands. "I'm sorry."
He didn't let her talk or plead for him to stay. He just walked off to wherever he felt like going. And at the moment home sounded like the best place.
In the plastic bag were some of the gifts she'd bought him in the past and a pint of ice cream. That didn't seem right to her. How could she not have known how bad things had gotten?
She cried to herself first. Alone and under the sheets. And then her guy best friend came over and she cried to him. They'd finished the ice cream quickly and she sobbed more about how it was from him. Everything in that house he had touched and everything had a memory.
"I know how to get your mind off things." He finally said after a moment of contemplating.
"H-how?"
He smirked and draped an arm over her shoulder. "Let's go drink!"
So there they were. Him in tight skinny jeans and white button up and Kristyn in a dress she didn't feel all too comfortable in. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her hair.
"Just remember. Don't cry. You'll ruin your makeup!" he tried to joke.
"Shut up." She hit him and tried to disappear into the crowed before he caught her arm.
"You're not allowed to leave until you have a few shots with me!" He yelled over the music.
She accepted the drinks. And somehow they just seemed to multiply in front of her. She took each one.
What she didn't know was that Yoongi was sitting across the room watching each time a new glass passed through her hands. He clenched his teeth just watching as she got wasted. He even ignored his own drink and friends in favor of keeping an eye on her. Slowly one by one all of his friends left. Namjoon was the last to leave however.
"Hyung we should get out of here. We can go drink somewhere else."
"I'm fine here."
"You're staring Kristyn down I hardly call that fine."
"I just have to make sure she's alright."
"You broke up with her! She's not your responsibility anymore. She's even with her friend she'll be fine." He tried to take Yoongi's arm but the glare he was given was cold enough to make his hands go limp.
"I never liked him." Was all that Yoongi said before shooing Namjoon off.
Kristyn spread her arms out on either side of her like she was trying to regain balance. Her body swayed and she leaned into her friend.
"What are you doing?"
"The rooom is spinning really really really fast! I needtostop the... the... the walls!" She slurred her words and it was clear to anybody that she was clearly too drunk to think.
"Do you know my name?" Her friend asked.
"Yoongi-ah?" she guessed. Her eyes were shifting everywhere unable to focus on any one thing.
"Yoongi?" He looked down at the girl beside him and smirked, "bingo!"
"I'm sooooooo gooood at thisgame!"
He rested his hand on her thigh "You're very very good." He squeezed her leg. He leaned into her and brushed the loose hair away exposing her shoulder and placed a kiss on the space.
The sight enraged Yoongi. He'd watched all night as the guy bought her dozens of drinks while he himself had only had one or two. Yoongi saw the way he looked at her and saw as he gauged how drunk she was every few minutes. What finally sent him over the edge is when the guy pulled Kristyn into his lap and held her tightly as she was trying to squirm away.
Yoongi stood from the bar and nearly ran over to the scene going on in front of him. Though he hated to do it he pushed Kristyn so that she lay on the seat cushions. He grabbed the guy by the collar and didn't allow him any time to be angry or to figure out he was about to die by Yoongi's hands. He slammed his fist into his jaw and when he fell into the table in shock Yoongi picked him up again only to deliver a blow that would instantly send him into a blackout.
"I don't understannnnd!" Kristyn whined. "How did Yoongi beat up Yoongi?"
"It's okay." Yoongi said making his way over to her to see if she was alright, "I'll explain it all later."
He lifted her into his arms and carried her to his place. She'd fallen asleep on the way so getting inside of the house was a little difficult but he managed it. He laid her down gently even though he was sure that she wouldn't have woken up no matter how he had set her down.
He threw off her heels and tucked her underneath his covers. He stroked her hair gently staring at her sleeping face. "Even if I don't think we should be together.... I won't let anyone hurt you.. I promise." he whispered.
