"Where are you bringing us?"

"In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..."

"Shut up! No one is going to save us!"

"Shh! He'll hear us!"

"Did you see what he did to that couple...?"

"Shh! The daughter is right over there!"

"Oh my god... He's coming..."

"No! Please! Don't take me! No! Please!"

"Stop! I'll go instead of her!"

"Who are you then?"

"My name is Kali. Kali Lane."

"Very noble of you Kali Lane." I see pain in his eyes as he says my name. I sit in the chair and look out the window. The planet below us seems uninhabited, only green and blue covering the planet. James follows my gaze and smiles. "Welcome to our Empire." The ship turns towards the planet and begins its decent to the surface. "Sorry but you are going to be left alive since I am some other questions for people of... less importance."

"James wa-!" I bag is put over my head, plunging me into darkness. My hands are bound as someone forces me to stand up.

"Bring her back to the holding bay with the others." His voice seems miles away as I am pushed down a hallway until I feel the floor on my face. The darkness is replaced by the bright lights of the holding bay as the bag and binds are taken off of me. The soldier who kicked me to the ground snickers and stands guard at the door. I sigh and sit in the corner of the room away from the others. I find Logan then I lose him. I lose James and then I find him.

"You okay miss?" A little girl sits next to me and smiles.

"I'm fine thank you for asking."

"I'm Sarah. Nice to meet you." She holds out her hand and I smile, shaking it.

"You're very formal. How old are you?"

"I'm turning nine this year. My birthday is in a week."

"Where's your mom and dad?" Sarah shrugs.

"I don't know. I haven't been able to find them. That man saw them last." I feel my heart drop as I realize who Sarah is. I nod to her, smiling weakly at her. 

"Well I bet we'll find them soon." Sarah nods and leans her head on my shoulder, watching the soldier as he continues to stand guard. She soon falls asleep, everyone else also drifting off to sleep. I wait until I am the last prisoner awake before I drift off as well.

"I'm sorry but you left me no choice."

"You monster! How could you kill her?!"

Bang!

"Wake up! We're moving out!" I wake up to a soldier shouting in my face. Sarah is awake and squeezing my hand.

"All right, all right. I'm getting up." I stand and keep Sarah close to me as everyone is escorted off of the ship. I am taken aback by what is outside the ship. We are in a huge hanger bay with Oracle ships and other Nightlock Guardians along with weapons and vehicles I've never seen before. The crowd stops and begins to be dispersed, girls in one line and boys on the other. "Don't say anything and they'll leave us alone." Sarah nods and hugs my waist as we are brought into a room with all the other girls. The door is sealed shut behind us. I lead Sarah to a corner of the room, away from the other girls. "Okay listen to me," I kneel down in front of her. "if anything bad happens you need to run or hide got it?" Sarah nods at me and we hug. "I will protect you."
