Kali: "How is he?" I turn and face Aya.
"He is breathing and the bleeding on his head stopped..." Aya nods before walking into the room. She sits down next to me and glances at the flash drive in my hand.
"What is that?" I look down at it and sigh.
"It is supposed to destroy the Nightlock Empire but," I clench my hand around it. "I don't know if it is the right thing to do..." Aya nods and puts her hand on mine.
"You won't be able to know unless you see it for yourself right?" Aya stands and goes to the doorway. I nod and follow her down the hall and into her room. "May I?" I nod as she takes the flash drive from my hand and plugs it into a TV mounted on her wall. She motions for me to sit on the bed while she fiddles with the TV.
I look around the room while I wait. My eyes eventually fall on a picture on a table next to me. In the picture there is a younger Aya with a man next to her, they are smiling and Aya is in a wedding dress. I smile while looking at it, the happiness taking hold of me as well.
"That was my husband." Aya picks up the picture and smiles sadly at it. "The day before this picture he said: 'Aya if you do not marry me I will have to steal you away because that is how much I love you.'" She smiles as a tear comes down her face. "After he said that I knew he was the one. I quickly scheduled a wedding for the next day and then this picture happened." Aya runs her finger along the picture.
"I am sorry... What happened to him...?" Bad move Kali, you never ask that kind of thing... Aya puts the picture down and sits next to me, holding a remote up to the TV.
"He had Alzheimer's disease." Aya wipes tears from her face before sitting up straight. "Let us not dwell on the past though. We need to help you right now." Before she can click on the TV, I put my hand on her arm.
"Wait... I don't know if I can watch it." Aya turns and looks at me.
"Dear if you don't watch this and give it to whomever is going to be destroying the Nightlock Empire you will always regret not knowing why it was so important."
"But I know why it is important. It shows the location of James Nightlock." Aya shakes her head sadly.
"It is up to you in the end. Don't make a decision you will regret later in life dear." I nod and stare at the TV. We sit in silence for a while before I turn to Aya and nod at her. Aya smiles and clicks on the TV, the screen turning blue. "Damn thing, I think it is brok-"
"This is Isabella Lane, giving my daily report to the AOO leader: Rick Nightlock, brother of Katherine Nightlock." My mother sits in a room, completely white with a white metal door behind her.
"Today we got a transmission from the rebels on the planet of Overgaard. They demanded money from us and warned us of consequences if we did not comply. I... laughed in his face and basically told him that we would destroy him long before he could harm us. I apologize for this rash behavior and will not do it again. I would like to request supplies if you could spare some. I know that you are establishing the Nightlock Republic but would greatly appreciate the supplies.
Isabella Lane, logging of-" I watch in horror as the door behind my mother opens, a man clad in a mask walking inside. My mother turns around, her body blocking the camera as she stands up.
"Who are you and what are you doing here!?" The man says something but the camera does not pick it up. The camera shakes as it falls to the ground, my mother being slammed against the desk by two men. Gunfire is heard from outside as another man walks into the room, a noose in his hand. My mother screams as the man sets up the noose, the other too lifting her up and putting her head around the rope. My mother lets out a final scream before they let go of her, her body falling limp after a couple of seconds.
