"The storms are moving in quick!" The weatherman announced on the tv.
"There will be winds at about 30-50 miles per hour. I would stay inside and keep away from windows. The storm should be in the area within the next twelve hours. Please stay indoors!" He advised. My parents turned off the tv and turned to me.
"So, does that mean I don't have to go to school?" I asked and smiled.
"Oh dear. Get ready for school, Alice." My mom laughed. I frowned and ate the rest of my eggs.
It was worth a try.
Setting my plate into the sink, I told my parents goodbye before they went to work. I have them each a kiss on the cheek and then walked up the stairs to my room. Opening my drawers, I took a pair of leggings and then a red baseball t-shirt. I ran my fingers through my wavy hair and applied a little makeup.
Nothing too nice. I have to make sure I have the horses all ready before the big storms comes.
My parents were gone when I walked down the steps and to the the front door. I walked to my car and clicked the unlock button on my keys. The lights flashed and I heard the familiar click that signals that my doors are unlocked.
The car I had before the crash wasn't like this. I had to put the key inside the lock thing by the car handle. There was no button and bam, the car is unlocked.
I threw my backpack in the passenger seat and began driving to school. Five minutes later, and rain begins to fall. It gets heavier and heavier. I squint my eyes to try and see better, but it's just not working. I have to drive super slow.
Ten minutes later and I don't even think I have moved a mile yet. The rain just won't stop coming down. The weatherman on my radio said that it should stop in about half an hour.
Half an hour too long. I'm going to be late for school. I huffed and put my car into park. The rain will stop soon and if I'm going to be late to school, then I would rather be safe and be even later than trying to rush there.
I scrolled through my phone and played a few games for about fifteen minutes. I shrieked when something bit my window. I looked over and saw Will. I gasped and unlocked the doors. He ran around the front of the car and climbed into the passenger seat. He's soaking wet and now the inside of my car is too.
"What happened to you?" I asked.
"Was walking to school and it just started coming down. Glad you were here, cause I for real don't know how much longer I could have stayed out there." Will replied.
My eyes widened. He's actually talking to me and he doesn't seem like he wants to jump out of this car and avoid me. I'm still mad though. I turned my head and looked out my window. The trees sway with the strong winds. A roar of thunder shakes the car a little bit. I jump too at the unexpected thunder.
"The rain should be stopping soon." I said. Will didn't respond and I know he's probably nodding his head. I look over to see him staring at me. I don't look away from his eyes.
I feel like he can see all my emotions. All the sadness, hurt, and disappointment. I look away and check the time on my phone. We're an hour late for school. I turn the radio on the channel for weather.
Turns out that all schools in the area are canceled. I sigh in relief that I don't have to worry about driving any further except for home. Also, I won't have to try and hide my feelings from Will. I put the car in drive and began heading to Wills house to drop him off.
"Thanks." He said and got out of the car before I could say anything back. I sighed and made my way home.
The whole trip I thought about everything. What if I'm not looking into things a little more?
Do I have feelings for Will?
