Book Of One-Shots

Red eyes gleam despite the dim moonlight shining through the thick tree leaves and branches, they scan over the area below, waiting for the exact moment. There was a small campsite set up in the clearing below the tree, merely a small fire pit and a makeshift bed of sorts. The figure on the branch turned their attention to the returning people, it was two men with arm fulls of wood. They hardly had the chance to set the wood on the ground before the figure leaps from their perch and attacks, easily striking them down with single blows each. The moonlight shining into the clearing illuminated them, revealing a woman. Long white hair with red streaks blows around them in the breeze, an almost bored look on her face. Her eyes were locked on the blood pooling around the bodies at her feet, almost feeling the urge to satisfy the need she so craved. But she wouldn't, she tried to remain poise and presentable at all times; even if no one else was around to see her. She tears her attention away from the red liquid, taking off at a quick pace into the surrounding forest. The two of them were only a warm up for her, her real target was up ahead and much stronger. It was an assassination mission, that would take a long while for her to complete, yet it was simple. Infiltrate the enemy group, gain their trust, and then kill him. She had to kill the group leader.

Sasuke Uchiha.

Sasuke closes his onyx eyes, Karin and Suigetsu were at each others throats. Again. It was getting annoying at this point, but he still needed them around so he couldn't get rid of them yet. They were bickering over something small and pointless, where their little group known as Taka would rest for the night. One wanted by the river so they would have a source of freshwater, and the other opposed with a nearby cave so they could have shelter and wouldn't be open to attack during the night. In all honesty, he hadn't a care where they stopped, just as long as the two of them would shut their mouths so he could get some sleep. Jugo was at his side, probably still playing with a bird just as last time he looked at him.

It was then the two of them went silent, only prompting him to open his eyes to see why. There was a woman standing a little ways away from their group. Her white hair shone brightly under the moon, only accentuating the red as well. Jugo gets up from his position at the Uchiha's side, Suigetsu and Karin moving back a bit to join the other two. The woman approaches them, they all kept their guard up, despite how unarmed she appeared.

"What the hell do you want?" Suigetsu asks while scrunching up his face at the woman, it wasn't often that they had people coming to their group for seemingly no reason,

"Get lost."

She simply keeps a stoic expression on her face, turning her attention to the dark haired Uchiha she practically demands,

"I want to join you."

Mild surprise ran through Sasuke upon hearing this, but he kept a collected look to himself on the outside. He responds with,

"What's your reason for wanting to?"

She was silent for a moment, almost pondering the correct words to say. Before finally, she does speak again,

"I want to help you with your cause, I know what happened to your brother and I'm against Konoha just as much as you."

A brief moment of shock crossed his face, but was gone almost immediately and replaced with a frown. He stands from his current sitting position, walking towards her with his hand placed on the hilt of his sword. Sasuke stands in front of her, eye to eye, they were nearly the same height. His dark eyes bore into her own as he states,

"The three of you, go away. I need to talk to her alone."

"But Sasuke..." Karin almost whines,
