The soft pitter patter of raindrops falling from the sky, pelting against the widow and rooftop were enough to keep Shouta asleep. His tired state made him seem careless, aloof in attitude. Or, at least he wanted to sleep, he couldn't. He sat on the plush couch in the main room of his shared flat, a smaller body curled up next to him, a blanket wrapped snugly around them both. A sniffle from his side snaps his droned out attention from the low rumble of the TV before them. His eyes drift over to see her face clouded with a pout and gloom. Her quirk had certain setbacks, cloudy skies being one.
"Hatsue..." his voice is soft and gentle, making her look at him. He takes her hand in his under the blanket, offering her comfort. Tears prick at the corners of her eyes, his affection making her emotional.
Her quirk is powerful, enough to rival plenty of the top heroes.
Shouta's thoughts started to wander again as she settles more against his side, slipping under his arm to press against him fully. She wasn't radiating as much heat as normal, he could tell the rain was having an affect.
She draws strength from the sun, no wonder she's so quiet today. As long as her fire is okay, she'll be alright.
Hatsue holds his hand a little tighter, thankful to have him by her side. Not only as support, a fellow teacher, but as a lover as well. She looks up at him again, noting his normally bored expression, his dark eyes tired and bloodshot like always. He wouldn't sleep, however. Not while it was still raining at least- he wouldn't let himself.
"Shouta?" Her voice is small and fragile, making his head snap to her in an instant, thinking something wrong. Yet there is a smile on her pink lips, "Thank you."
He leans over to place a kiss to her forehead with a quiet hum in response. He then lets his head rest against hers as they turn back to the TV, a random movie neither of them were paying much attention to was on the screen.
